Ask a Trainer - For New Hires and Potential Employees

Typically how long do you have after you get approved for school to attend one of the schools?

 

I was told 6 months from day of approval, then you would have to start the process over.

 

Well I'm trying to get in on the Nov 25th class have dot phys. and my permit all done and they told me I was approved so just waiting on them to get the paper work all worked out. I do have another question since you go to a lot of the same places I don't know if they give you routings and locals like some do or not but if they do are your local directions usually pretty close ?

Our local directions are usually from another millis driver who has been into the customer, that way you know its a route that one of our trucks can make without a problem.

 

That sounds Great can't wait to get started

 

I was told I was accepted into the Millis driving acadamy in January...dates yet to be set. I will be attending the Burleson, TX. Acadamy. does anyone know anything about the instructors there...or is anyone here an instructor? I got my DOT physical today and I had to send off for another birth certificate. What else do I need to bring?
I'm doing my best to learn as much as I can before getting there. I'll be taking my permit test Monday. Any advice is appreciated.

 

Hello everyone. I'm looking to get into trucking and was really impressed with what I've see in these posts. I would like Millis to be my first company to work for. I do have a couple questions. I live in Pittsburgh, PA and sure I'd have to go to the Hamilton OH training facility.

My first question is how far would I have to drive to get to a nearby DC?

My second question is how long to I have to stay with the company until my obligation to pay back schooling?

Not that I would want to go anywhere else right away. From what I've read on the posts here.
