I own a auto transport company now and would like to put our van to good use. Where do you guys find your local runs wether it be a letter, package, boxes etc. Also any other insurance I need to carry besides cargo? Sorry if I am beating a dead horse with these questions.
Getting into the Local Expedite Service with a Van or two. Where to find work?

Courier companies or freight forwarding companies in your area.
Letters, packages and so on normally come from established customers and trying to compete with Fedex and USPS is almost impossible to do.
There are no real load boards for this stuff locally. -
I got a lead from Craigslist and just waiting for the background check to come back. If you want the lead PM and me and I'll give you the company info.

Check the final mile places by O'Hare. Dynamex is looking to sign on box trucks right now, but might take a van. Most other places can keep a van busy once you prove you're ready to work.
Alot of the smaller couriers require 100K/300K insurance, a reliable vehicle, and you pay all fuel so keep the receipts! -
