Like I posted before with Garmin you can dl poi for the units. Check poi factory out. They have a bunch of updated truck stops etc

I checked it out tonight and installed the loader from Garmin, I also downloaded the Flying J, Petto and TA locations and will install them tomorrow. If the POI's work with the 760 then I plan to get a Garmin for the Jeep and load all the camping spots on it. Thanks for the tip.

They have a ton poi on that website. You can also make your own in a spreadsheet and upload it.

Is there a way to mark a section of road to avoid? My company does not allow us to use the Chicago Skyway, so I would like to permanently avoid it.

If I am understanding correctly, the 760 is great with navigation but there is much to be desired with the POIs. Also, I understand that there is an app in which POIs can be purchased through a website and downloaded to the 760...Is this true?

I am beyond dizzy and ambivalent on which to get my husband. He had the RM 710, but had many issues with the power cord going into the unit. Mark from RM helped tremendously and actually fixed it for free, but it only broke again. From prior experience I don't want to get another RM product. The 760 sounds like a great alternative, but my husband really likes the POI feature to find truck stops. Like another poster, a smartphone app isn't real handy when you're driving.

Can someone clarify the 760s ability to download POIs from a website>

    Thank you so much!

Garmin has a poi loader you dl from Garmin free. Then follow instructions. As for poi go the Web poi factory. They have all poi you want. It's really simple.

Beer Runner and Skydivedavec Thank this.

OK, so how do I avoid a specific stretch of road, like the Chicago Skyway?

By doing what I read about downloading and installing POI's, I can say it worked like a charm. I put them into folders such as, Flying J, Petro, TA and it worked out well. Happy Happy Happy. Thanks moosc for telling my about the POI factory.
