Yes Sir, I had the exact problem with my '06 ISX. Got to the point where you could almost go in and grab coffee before it would shut off. It was the Fuel Solenoid that failed. Had it replaced in Great Falls MT. 300 bucks all in.

What else can you tell me about these trucks. A carrier wants to sell me one for 21k........ haven't seen it yet but I could use perks and quirks associated with the whole line.......so I know what to look for........
Thanks.. -
Thank you for response,Do you now where is the Fuel solenoid?
-
In addition to the fuel solenoid it could also be the Data Link between the Vehicle ECU and the Engine ECU. When you shut the truck off, time the delay. If the delay is 6-7 seconds every time I would lean more towards the Data Link. If it varies then More towards fuel.

Well I can tell u that I am happy with my truck.Iit has a 475 hp cummins isx engine ,a 13 speed transmission .I have 950000 mile on the truck.I pull a reefer trailer so usually I'm heavy, close to 80000.Good fuel economy around 7 ,About repairs ,a lot of air leaks on truck ,(usually easy fix) turbo replaced at around 880000,radiator replaced at 900000 and 2 starters.

The delay is more than 6-7 seconds ,so I'm gonna try the Fuel solenoid first.Thank you for information.

Another really good thread on this engine

I drive an 09 volvo with the cummins. We have had a few of ours keep running after you turned them off and every single time it was the fuel solenoid. Left side of engine midways back close to the EGR pipe (pipe that says hot). I love my cummins. It pulls better than our other volvos with the D12 or the D13. The only problems we have is you have to clean the EGR pipe and the 2 small EGR tubes about once every 2 - 3 months (takes about 10 minutes) and there are a few quirks with them throwing dummy codes (not really throwing codes but showing it is). I've got 688,000 miles on mine and I get 7.3MPG running 70mph. Plus I like how the cummins shakes when it idles. Puts me right to sleep every time.
Vio Thanks this.
