I graduated truck driving school in October and started with a company where I live here in Cedar Rapids (not CRST). While with my trainer I had an incident where I damaged a trailer (long story). They routed us back to CR and we had to talk to safety. I was let go, it was put on my dac as a preventable and now I can't get any of the mega starter companies to hire me. Am I unhireable right now? Do I have to wait 3 years?

    Thanks

No, But you will want to put a statement on your DAC, Go to a smaller company that will not run the DAC on you! There are those around, I'm wondering why they didn't nail the trainer too? That is crazy. Good Luck.

Thanks. All they did to my trainer was take him off of the training program. Safety didn't tell me why didn't penalize my trainer anymore than that so I can't tell you.

I'm new to, don't ever give up, call several companies, be up front, if it's the only thing on your record, someone will take you on !

Must be WST. They're bad about scarring DAC's. Hateful boogers, lol.

When you say all mega carriers do you really mean all? There's a bunch of them and one accident is not enough to stop you from everywhere. You just have to keep applying.

Have you got a copy of your DAC to see the details?

    Chinatown and L84AD8 Thank this.

Sure it's on your DAC? You can request a copy of your DAC @ HireRight.Com for free once a year. It will arrive within 2 weeks. If on there just tell future companies ahead of time so you don't waste your or their time and for a let down later .

Roehl told me today that there was a preventable on my dac. They said it was from October from WST and because of it they could not hire me.

You'll get 10 rejections before you find one. Even though you are 100% responsible it is understandable someone in training might have an incident. It's when you set a pattern of problems you will be not hireable.

There is always local jobs that are less critical on hiring qualifications.

You're ok, just have to look harder for a new company. Check Careerbuilder website and start applying. You're in the hiring area for Western Express so try them also.

I HIGHLY suggest you do what my previous comment said. It's FREE...... Besides if they WST wrote incorrectly you can have taken off or even try to have it removed and see what happens. You have nothing to lose. Don't get down about it. Could have been a lot worse. Learn from it and move on .
