I disagree Saint Bully. There are very few jobs that a woman can't do. I do agree that there are some very feminine and fragile women that can't pull hoses, but they wouldn't be out in the oil fields anyway. Pulling hoses isn't hard. I've hauled sand, water, and crude and it isn't hard work at all, but then again, my previous jobs were setting chokers in Oregon, and then running the 90 pound jack hammer and laying pipe. As far as I know, the only jobs that I'm pretty sure no woman can do is bucking hay, running the jack hammer, and setting chokers, but there are even a few women that could do those jobs. I've seen women try to buck hay....they can do it but their production is low, and it doesn't seem worth it to pay her the same hourly wage when she can only buck half of what a strong man can. But there are a few tough women out there who can buck hay.

Men got wimpier? What do you mean? I started logging when I was fourteen. Before that I shoveled sawdust starting in fifth grade under the hog. In my twenties I threw the 90 pound misery whip around for 12 hours a day in 100 degree heat. Then I studied for nine years and got a graduate degree while driving a truck 60 hours a week. I hated the mentality of the office setting so I went back to driving a truck 80-90 hours a week where I make more money than most business people. Wimpier? You're watching too much TV.

I worked in West Texas hauling for the oilfields, and have many ladies working next to me. Not a single problem. ok, maybe they were getting lost at night trying to find a battery LOL
Never experienced any trouble, at disposals, yards, waiting to load/unload, truck stops, nothing.
But I do remember you, beautiful lady, who invited me to go to Dallas to the Nascar race. I know why I told you that I couldn't, and that's because I'm stupid.
To the post author, go to west texas, and be ready to start working!
