This has certainly been my experience. Of more than half dozen applications I sent out in a week I received only one reply, an email that I was in a nohire state, from Swift I think. Because I'm east of I95 (by less than a mile!) many computers are apparently kicking me out, and I find this out only when I place a phoner to the recruiter who says, "yeah, you're east of I95, we don't hire east of 95."
Don't expect to hear back if they aren't interested.
Why don't they call you back???

Yes, it goes on in many employment sectors. If they don't want to tell a person over the phone, they could at least mail a John Deere letter. -
Change your address. A Mailboxes, Etc. address is workable. Then reapply.Skydivedavec Thanks this.

I'm going through the same thing right now, company tells me they'll have a decision for me no later then Friday morning. Now its Tuesday I've left messages and emails, still no response so today I will call using the wifes cell phone. Even though I'm sure they have chosen not to hire me, I still want to hear them tell me. I have no qualms against any companies decision not to hire me, but to think the companies supposed to be a "professional trucking company" is not only laughable but also debatable.
How professional can one be if they can't do something as simple as say, at this this time we have chosen not to hire you, in a year (or whatever time for that carrier is) you can re-apply, have a good day and good luck. Now sure there are some who still might get mad, cuss, fuss, #$%^, moan, groan etc... At least that person can move on to the next step, whatever that may be, but guess we are asking for to much lol. Be safe!luvtotruck and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Check your mailbox. Maybe they were decent enough to mail you a John Deere letter.luvtotruck Thanks this. -
Good point. Last week I found a reply from a company that had sat in my spam folder for two days before I realized it.

I applied for a local position with Lazer Spot. She asked me to get copies of this & that & all kinds of things to send to her. She said that she would probably have an interview set up for me the following Tuesday. I sent in all the bull crap things the lady wanted, thinking that she would call me back in a couple of days with a date to interview. About three weeks later, I got another job offer which I took. About two weeks after that, she began to call everyday, asking me to call her.
She called for about two weeks & I finally took her call & told her I had taken another position.
It took her about 5 weeks to do what she said she was going to do "by Tuesday". She didn't give me the courtesy of communicating with me so, I just returned the favor to see how she liked it.luvtotruck Thanks this. -
Skydivedave,Where are you in the process. Been to school yet?
-
Hey hey man! Funny, just today got the call! Am to report to school in Asheboro on the 25th. Four weeks at FTA then being picked up by PAM Transport. Just took up an hour of jbryan's time that he'll never get back! He's a graduate from over a year ago and a wealth of information about the process and the company.
You making any progress? Just last night I found a good community college in Sampson County that is super affordable but I can't wait that long! I'll have my Cdl before the next class begins there in January! -
Even a letter stating "While Your Skills and Abilities are impressive... Bl Bla BS BS We have found another job candidate that is better qualified... Bla Bla Bla" So why dothey say they are impressed with my skills, if you were you would have hired me.
