I only say that because all potential bypass routes around NM POE's are posted that all commercial vehicles must report to the POE and they tend to be rather unhappy when you don't lol.

lol!!!! You must do the same thing I do....Either hit them before 5 am or later at night.
Or let a ton of other trucks pass to fill them up.
Or just ride on by .......oops...lol!
I watched a Swift who was in line on the south bound who decided to jump out of line and just go by them
The black SUV behind him did not like that very much......lol! Lit him up before he even got past the scale. -
I wasn't award of that. I have only been to NM once, covering a load from OKC to Clovis. Long time ago, don't remember a POE but that just could be mental fog.

There's a Scale east of Clovis on 60. When you pull on it they have the following sign
"If your new Mexico permit is up to date, go.
If your new Mexico permit is not up to date, stop and come in.
If you are not sure, stop and ask."puncher Thanks this. -
Yeah in your city you get a free bypass on the scales lol it's in the green book

Due to a fatal bus crash at those scales because trucks were trying to get slowed up to enter the scales when they were busy....YES I ride on by.
The north bound side is on a good downhill grade and I will not slow to 15 mph while still in the road.
This scale house knows this and monitors channel 19....Sometimes they don't hit the closed sign fast enough.
I will tell them it is backed out on the road and drive by......never a problem. -

Crossed scale about 10:30 last night, just rolling you across.large car come strolling up hill,as I'm getting up to speed, might have been 1-2 mph over(wink).he was rolling about 70-75.never slowed up for scale eased off 485.no way they could have caught him unless in car waiting to go. -
A lot of trucks pass them......they probably flipped the closed sign on right after you went under it.
I have done the same thing as that other driver....keep it gassed and jump on 485....lol!
Usually at night there is just one white car parked in the north bound scale house.
He actually is a decent guy and rarely messes with anyone. -
Scale was still open he was just rolling, big w9 he was coming off hill when I came out, other trucks went in he was steady Rollin.on a side note ever heard of star leasing out of Charlotte? Black century tractor #8 what a idiot! Ran him down pulling hill at the 102 northbound 85 big truck coming out,top hill 63mph.try three times to let him out, once on radio, twice with lights.he finally gets a clue.about the 15 in nc he's bound and determined to pass me back,so just ease up,try to let him go.he passes then slows to 58-59 wtf! Come through scale he takes left,I go right, get back in front.he cuts off 4wheeler coming out of scale.cant be going more than 40mph,from Charlotte should know lane goes to top of hill
-
I often prefer running smaller back roads just to avoid the stupidity of things like the "slow truck drag races" (those are when a truck governed at 63 mph is passing one governed at 62 mph), or just want a break from the interstate. I regularly follow the rules, and don't like to go near certain scales.
