So I first would like to say thanks for reading this, I also will warn you my grammar and spelling are both bad. Ok so info about me I was in the military for 10yrs I was honorable discharged. I started with a company hauling groceries in to dc everyday. After 2 weeks a new company took over the contract. At first I made great money and a lot of miles which I loved. Now that the new company has started to lose money due to under bidding the contract they have cut my miles in half and so has my pay. Its not that we are working less days I'm still working 6 days and 50 hrs a week. The other issue is that when I was hired by my current company I was promised that one week during the summer and thanksgiving, they would work with me so I could see my kids who live in NC. I put in my time off request in 2 months in advance and both were rejected. Here lately there taking the drivers for the original company and giving us small runs and taking their drivers from before they got the contract and giving them the better runs. I hate to ask for someones opinion but I need another set of eyes is this just me complaining or is it time to look else where. Thanks for the time and have a great day.
I need some advice and a 3 set of eyes on my situation

don:t quit till you have worked out new job app, and been ck. out.
GITRDUN45 Thanks this. -
Start looking around. Check out indeed.com. Do not just quit until you get another job and then still give your current employer 1-2 weeks notice. My opinion if they wanted you to stay with them they would treat you better. It may be God's way of telling you there is a better job for you out there. Good luck!

Leave...but how much experience do you have at this point?

yeah i'd start looking. this is typical when one company gets bought out by another. I've been through it several times in warehousing, distribution and in aviation as well and the song remains the same in trucking.
we currently are dealing with a moderate issue of our own having bought out and integrated a smaller company into our parent company. we run east of the Mississippi and they run west and when we get sent out west we go under their planners and the planners out there don't want to communicate with our dispatch and we end up getting the #### runs their drivers don't get until we get back on our side of the river. fortunately we don't run out there much and it's a minor annoyance and manageable. they'll get on board eventually as our management is already aware of those issues. a little different than your situation but it goes both ways depending on the situation with the parent company or the one that got bought out.
having said that, check out epes.....it's overall a really good gig and we run up your way a lot quite a few customers up that way. it's a decent family oriented company and they're very willing to work with you on family issues. we're based in nc so there would be no issues getting you down here to see your kids. better than average money for newbies, good equipment and hometime and solid freight, especially in your area. if you're still in that 0-1 year bracket you might have to go out a week or 2 with a trainer but worth looking into.
send me a pm if you have specific questions on them. sure sounds like you need to start looking at options. yours sounds like a situation that probably will only get worse, not better. -

I sure many of the meat haulers out of the midwest would hire you running back and forth.

Look hard but don't burn your bridge till you have something locked up.

Lily Dedicated Logistics might work for you scheduling some weekends off in NC. They have a pretty good program of hometime. The website is Lily.
Also look at Maverick for weekends off; maybe you can schedule weekends off in MD or NC.
