    Are you serious?
The answer,, no, not at all.
Looking to see if it's already been answered/addressed in a previous post, via the search function, is purely to prevent avoidable multiple posts,
    covering the exact same information.
That's the same reason a lot of times there are "stickies" (posts that are locked in & never move) at the top of the thread lists, in each category, that have info for frequently asked questions.

You won't be banned or even reprimanded, but the staff or users may just helpfully remind you using the search box is an easy & fast way to see if your question or post has already been answered.

Note: Mods,, help me out here. Your approval or "modification" of my info here would make sure my info is "accurate", in the forum staff's viewpoint.

the search is a nice tool. but sometimes you get what you don't want instead of what you do want.

and gps works REALLY good if you have the correct parameters set.

as for all the fancy features. there's an app for that. FREE.

i have copilot on my phone. and my tablet which is my daily driver. i started with rand. and that quickly got traded for pcmiler. which is same as copilot. my atlas sits behind the seat. it got used the first month till i got comfortable with gps. now it just sits there. only making an occasional appearance.

i havent been through chicago or new york city, other then driving through on the freeway. but i've learned not to argue with my gps. then i WILL end up on the wrong street. it knows the streets better then me. so when it tells me to turn. i say yes hunnee.

I was being sarcastic. I just get tired of people saying use search function. I dont know bout rest of you but im busy. I get about 1 hour a day on the internet. If i have a question the last thing i want to do is spend that hour coombing through pages and pages of posts when i can just ask the question and get a quick answer. If u dont want to answer same question over and over again dont but dont get ont hose of us that dont have a lot of time to do the research.

I don't want to dwell off topic on the search, but just wanted to say I never use the main search box. It gives a lot of unfiltered info that doesn't apply.
The advanced search isn't "perfect" but is 1000 times better if you know how to input the words and search terms.

As for GPS, from my very limited experience, Garmin units seemed to give quicker route replanning and other date more accurately and quicker.
But I still rely heavily on my eyes & common sense on any GPS.

What model do you have? What issues is it giving you?

If routing is an issue, have you changed your settings?

    Thanks,
    mark

All new Truck GPS are comparatively priced. The same goes for Refurb Truck GPS. I can understand a new unit running about $400 versus a refurb running $200.

If you do buy a refurb, watch what comes with it. The refurb that comes without LTM is a great attraction, but add on LTM and the cost is about the same.

Refurbs - watch the warranty period.

Yes, but it's still a phone app. I don't touch my phone when I'm driving. If it can't be done using voice commands through my headset it doesn't happen.

...and one more thing. This guy right here is probably the number one selling feature of the Rand McNally. He is very helpful.
