I'd say that compared to most of the used car salesmen out there trying to fill seats that our recruiters are pretty straight up. The company has produced on about 90% of everything the recruiter said they would.

5-600 will be no problem. You'll do better than that if you're a runner and establish yourself as someone they can depend on to get the job done. We all have bad weeks from time to time and sometime even a couple in a row but the you have weeks you'll do over 3000. the miles are there. After a year or so, 5-600 will be a bad week lol it averages out over the month to be pretty good money

Lol 500?? He should make at least 800 a week and that's on a really slow week in January with any company driver position... I know epps is one of them low paying companies but still should make around 900.. That's more than that 500 he needs.. If you only make 500 a week thsts only 26k.. Go to transport America I made 50k my first year straight out of trucking school.. Epps is worse then I thought.. Wow never thought a Otr driver would make less then a McDonald's worker

And you would be who anyway? Nobody that matters around here.

I did mid 40's first year and well over 50 this year. For this part of the country that's good money. There are very few starter companies out here that pay 8-900 every week , first year, much less during the slow months and you #### well know it. Exceptions being flatbed or tanker there are a few of those.

Clearly you you don't like the company and have nothing good to say anytime you come around here. How long did you stay out for that 50k? And what are those paychecks looking like now? By that logic you should be well into 6 figures now with your 10 years in.

Just another full of #### super trucker with all the answers and nothing constructive to add to the conversation.

I know how to make money out here and it's not making .38 a mile!! Lol BUT I did make 50k in 2002 straight out of school making .29 a mile! Work smart kid

well most of us are making more each year than the previous one and that's the point is progression and not going backward. as far as what's available out here for newbies it's better than average. it sure as #### isn't making swift or werner wages and we get home more often as well. he could do a lot worse. he could do better. it's all about what works for him. point being, he asked for facts from people who work here and if he could make a specific amount.....not for the opinions of someone who doesn't work here telling him what he SHOULD be doing.

since you brought up transport America.......I've talked to some of those guys they've been at some of our customers....they do seem to be happy and making decent money as well but none of them said they were getting home regularly. if I were single and didn't have a hot wife and my dogs to go home to i'd stay out for weeks at a time too and really be raking it in. as it is, even without counting my other income, i'm doing well enough here that my wife doesn't work, the bills are paid and money is going in the bank every month, and i'm there almost every week.... can't ask for more than that. the other income just goes in the bank and the truck takes care of the day to day stuff so I don't have to dip into it.....it's all about what works best for each and what works for some doesn't work for others. but since you're sharing you could share this great job that has you on track to do 70k+ with the rest of us so we can check it out lol

got another set of bad directions again. that's happened a few times in the last couple weeks. if i'd followed the directions i'd have ended up in a residential neighborhood 8 miles short of final. just goes again to utilizing all the tools and technology you can to scope out an area and the customer before you go in somewhere you've never been before.

walmart 3559 and 7078 in elwood, Illinois. drop at 3559 pickup at 7078. both facilities at the same location, one on the right one on the left going in the gate. I sent in updated directions and address so hopefully they changed it in the system. I advised them the current directions take you into a neighborhood 8 miles short so hopefully they got on that one and got it changed. had one address on the BOL, another address on the load assignment, and yet a 3rd address on the preplan. none of them were right. have to wonder how that big a screwup happens and just what drunk ### sent in the initial directions.

next one going down to Hopkinsville....been there before always a joy trying to get an empty out of there. got the scenic 2 lane middle of nowhere Illinois and Indiana trip this time. made decent time though except trying to negotiate the truck route through Kankakee that took a little while through red light hell.

preplanned out of Elizabethtown tomorrow going who knows where. one of three regular places for those loads i guess. setting up for another solid week. I've been preplanned at least 24hrs in advance every trip so far. I like those weeks.

All I said was he should check into other options cuz a driver said you can make 500-600 and you could make more if your a runner! I left transport America in 07 but I still talk to a few of their drivers and it's changes some but you can still make the money there.. I was home every weekend with TA.. But your right about the swift and werners I would go to epps.. Well everyone had to start somewhere so go for it get your experience and move on.. Stay away from cr England and transam..

5-600 is a bad week, even fresh off your trainers truck. Even though first year pay is progressive increases to 12 months you can still better that weekly you first year. I did mid 40's first year and that's a solid 800+ /wk average.

Its like most places. The guys/girls that run what they're given and don't whine and establish themselves as dependable can do well here.
