$1200 for a 10 over ticket? I'd fight the ticket on my own. The travel expenses would be less than that.

Man I feel ya on why you got it- there's always some douchebag either on the cell phone or half asleep that will slinky along between 52 and 59, and when you try to pass them they all the sudden wake up and feel they need to be the front door and stay there. Friggin azzhats! One good thing about being an O/O is I can go 70 and most company trucks are governed less than that these days. Believe me every time I get in a stupid "race" I do it with a puckered butt, but I pass him, he goes back to yelling on the phone or sleeping and I continue on my happy way at 62. Sorry you got caught, hopefully the idiot that helped you get there gets his one day.

Also remember if you go to court you will have to pay about $500.00 bail or court cost besides the lawyer fee. I paid Roadlaw $525.00 for my ticket about a year ago. If you pay the ticket it will be on your record. I would fight it. They just want the money. They wont dismiss it, but will most likely amend it to a lesser charge that wont affect your driving record. Just remember it is all about the money.

    robain79 Thanks this.

Was that the total or just what you paid Roadlaw? I know its all about the money too. I called roadlaw and its $475 to hire them...then I know I still gotta pay the fine. Thanks for all the info.

It was $525.00 to Roadlaw and $499.00 for bail or court cost to have the court hearing.

Sometimes poop happens and lets not forget he is innocent until proven guilty by the court. I guess he could just roll over and pay the fine, but he has his right to have his day in court and plead his side for a fee.

I hope you never get into a situation were you need help and have to ask for advice. I have been there and let me tell you it sucks.

I knew this forum wouldn't go long without someone stating the obvious...but that's life... this is my first mess up in two and a half years...with anything, and my first speeding ticket since I was 20 running around giving the "county" hell and a lot of my money. Didn't mind so much back then...heck, I was a kid and in 98 gas was $.79 cents a gallon...I had all kinds of money. Now I don't. .and I know I messed up. I also had no idea what would be the best way to handle this. So I went to this forum..which is for... (can you guess Upright? Sure you can, heres a hint...its in the name of the website...that obvious enough for ya?) to ask for advice. And people have responded in kind. Thank you all and goodnite.
