I talked to one of the instructors at my school and he stated " after the first of the year, doubles and triples will require a written test AND a skills test".
Has anyone else hear something such as this?
Ive tried researching it with no outcome, only his word.

the skills test. the written ok but not the skills. youll do a road test if your hired with the actual company thats pulls doubles after you get your cdl. the doubles end is just a written

That's probably the actual title in NY.
As for CA... I think they need to quit beating around the bush and just write us a citation for being a truck driver as soon as we cross the state line ROTFL.Moosetek13 and southpaw2153 Thank this. -
You will need to be setup with what they call a long vecehile combination test "LCV" I believe if over a certain length.
I had my done with my former company as I was 130' long with my old setup. Plus it was a triple combo -
