Had a similar problem with a Connex 3300. Pull the am/fm stereo power and speaker wires and see what it does. In my case it was the weather band circuit in the stereo being powered up by the cb and feeding back through the speakers.

Are you sure the coax to antenna connection is good? It sure seems like a ground or antenna issue.

Very interesting. I will look into the wx band and see. I took the truck to a cb shop on Saturday, and they went through the antenna system and didn't find any issues. SWR's are 1.3, and receive is fine. It was also doing the same thing on the stock system. I really don't think it's an antenna or ground issue, but rather a truck and/or radio issue...most likely a truck issue. I am going thru Wildwood today, so I'll stop at the cb shop there and see if they can see anything.

On another note, Stryker radios did call me back yesterday. The tech found my problem quite odd and hadn't heard of anything like that. But he also didn't think it was the radio...rather something within the truck causing interference.

Soooo, you had the truck in the shop for a APU/battery problem and that's when your radio started having trouble, yet you haven't checked out the batteries? It is probably the source of the issue. Find out what the shop did and retrace their work and check all of your cables, especially your grounds including the one at the radio.

The alternator on the apu went out, and they replaced it. I checked the cables and word running off of the battery and nothing is loose or broken. On top of that if it indeed was a truck electrical problem, the ecu would have thrown a check engine light.

ECU's throw codes for CB's now? Dang new fangled trucks. Back in reality, your not going to get a code for a bad ground for your CB. When you checked the batteries, you did it with a wrench correct? You've checked the negative power wire to ensure its grounded, correct? It's all going to comeback to your APU repair.

What did Wildwood say? Just curious.

No, but it will throw a code and start load shedding if it senses an electrical issue anywhere in the system. Also if there was a loose battery cable, other electrical systems would be affected as well...but yes, I checked them all with a wrench.

They said it sounded like an antenna issue. When I told him that the antenna system has already been tested twice before, he said that doesn't matter...so they checked it and said swr was at a 2 (most likely because they checked it in their garage instead of outside.) He said that was the cause of the feedback, and wanted to put my antenna on a bird perch on the mirror...but he refused to reuse the coax that I bought last week and wanted to charge me $100+ to do it. On top of that, they don't work on Stryker radios.

You might just have to bite the bullet. Run your power straight from the battery and go with a bird perch. As for new coax, I would have them check the coax you had installed on the truck previously. Don't get discouraged, Cascadia's are known to be cb unfriendly trucks.

I will get it done, but I'm going to take it back to place that originally did it. I already paid them $150, and by God, they can make it right. I will run power from the battery as soon as I get a little free time. Thanks for the advice.

    Just curious.

Where did you connect it (Radio) for power?

    Was your power line fused?
