You will find some work out of Pleasanton. If fracking is what you're after, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, and Weatherford all have yards along I37 between south San Antonio and the Elmendorf exit. SA is at the northern extreme of the Eagle Ford shale. Go a little south to Three Rivers/George West or Kenedy and you'll be in the thick of it. A lot of the companies down there have man camps so drivers don't have to commute 1.5 or more hours per day.

You will need at least 1 1/2 years experience to be considered by Chalk Mountain. They're going to open a new yard in Atascosa soon so they're growing. -
We have apps in at Chalk, have been calling them every other day or so but still nothing as of yet. We have been told that they are really busy because they are going to hire a bunch of new guys. Hoping they are on that list. Found some sort of staffing agency for just CDL drivers, going to give them a call in the morning. Thank you for the help! The guys said they are going to go drive 37 tomorrow and see what they can find out at the companies you listed and whatever else they see.

Hey y'all well I was told Friday that I have a job. I still got to do physical and drug test.I always say when I get to that point I got it whipped now. so 2 weeks from the day I drove into town I'm hired not bad at all. Of course it seemed like for ever $19.25 hr all over 40 time and half. I don't start orientation till Dec 3 cause of the holiday. I will let you know the company as soon as I go thru orientation and they don't have a problem with the social media thing. I also was told that chalk mountain has just signed a major contract for 10 year deal don't know any details. Well now I got to go by me a cheap ride to drive to work. Latter

Well today went well.went thru all the medical stuff today and it took all day. I don't know what will go on tomorrow probably watch movies but so far so good. I want everyone to be a ware of what's going on with the reality companies here renting apartments. Some of them are requiring you to purchase 100,000 dollars worth of renters insurance.that's insane I seen it in the fine print and one lady said it was about $17 a month but why would they require you to carry that much a big scam as far as I can see.

I'm 23 years from Southern California, just got laid off 1.5 weeks ago, and have enough money to go to trucking school to my CDL A and tanker/hazmat endorsements. I might just go to Texas because the conditions don't seem AS bad there as it is up in ND. No having to worry about valves or hoses freezing up and exploding on me in Texas lol Most have of my previous jobs have been doing sales and customer service for dealerships and shops (service advisor), so getting into trucking will be quite a change to me. Was debating on just going out and being a roughneck or becoming a trucker and I chose trucker in case I wanted to go into the rail road after I doing some time on the oil fields in TX or ND. I guess the easiest thing for me is that i'm not married and don't have kids, so I can just get up and go to where the work is.
