Ah, don't let it bother you. The sub-forums are meant to help categorize discussions and make it easy for members to share information. Some threads might be a little more expeditor than car hauler, but as long as drivers are helping each other out there is no need to split hairs. I don't want sub-forums turning into private clubhouses where members are turned away because they don't fit an imaginary rule about who does and doesn't belong.

It's pretty simple when you are divided among forums. If you are talking about hauling cars then the appropriate forum would be the car hauler's forum. If you are discussing the hotshot world then the hotshot forum would be the appropriate forum. I might be a reefer driver but have interest in tankers I'm going to post the tanker topic in the tanker forum.

This matter could of been handle behind the scenes with the report button and let the moderators moderate. Send us message via the triangle/exclamation point icon if you feel a post should be moved we'll gladly move it if we see fit.

Here you can hang this on the front door of your forum...

I move some threads into here from the O/O forum from time-to-time. Guys that are wanting to get started with a three-car wedge, or maybe wanting to put a couple on a mini-float. New guys that are just wanting to get started hauling cars.

I put them in here for one reason - this is the place to learn about hauling cars from the pros. In my opinion, it's more about the cars than the equipment they use. They need to learn about handling cars and the people who ship them. They won't learn that from hot-shot guys who run the oilfields, or who pull mini-floats stacked with plastic pipe or insulation.

More importantly, they need to learn about rating those moves. The best place for them to learn about rates so as not to have a negative influence on them is from the members in here who do that for a living. We all hear complaints on a regular basis about guys with wedges putting downward pressure on rates. If you want to have any influence on that, the best way to do it is through communication with them.

Some of these guys might be starting small, but they will still benefit tremendously from interaction with the pros in here. Anybody who doesn't feel like they are one of the pros able to help a new guy get started should probably just skip over those threads.

Ha! That's a good point. In fact, I started not to reply just for that reason. But, since I've moved several threads in here recently, I thought it would be good to explain why so that members could set me straight if I'm wrong.

Anyway, your point is well-taken, so I'll get out of here now - LOL. You guys all have a safe trip today.

You may as well erase this whole thread. I understand what slant6 was saying. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry wants to haul cars but cant seem to aquire a CDL for what ever reason. The same question gets old when you see it over and over andover and over and over and over with the same arguements whether you need a CDL or not. I still dont know the answer and I see this question asked atleast on a weekly basis. These questions aren't about how to haul cars but how drive commercially without a commercial drivers license.
