This is the second one in Colorado in less than a month.

Another good reason not to chain up. Instead park.

never did like those "chain up" spots that were not much wider than the shoulder! especially when you saw the 4 wheeler sliding along in the right lane!!!! it would not take much to make the spaces WELL off the lane of travel. as to putting chains on,just on the shoulder-no way! yeah, parking is the best solution but sometimes that is not an option.

This is the main reason that if there is a chain law in effect I park it .... you have enough warning if there is one in effect or not .... listen to the cb

To many people dont care (4 wheelers) .... why take the chance on life .... park it .... the load can be late if needed rather than taking a chance on life with some of these morons out there

Okay, now just because chaining up is not for you does not mean it is for everybody.... People who live in the area of a chain up have plenty of experience in doing so and would know better then somebody who doesnt...

now it seems that one is putting the fault on the driver... Very bad if you ask me.... Just as a police officer it is part of truck driving..... If this happened to a cop then there would be all kinds of people being pulled over for the next few days... but its just a trucker so lets forget about it and throw negative comments.... Sure he may have been in an area that was not a chain up area but he did make a decision he thought he needed to chain up in order to be safe "on the road"

How about a comment such as "I sure hope he is going to be okay"...
"I hope his family is doing okay"

There's a hill I sometimes have to use chains on in the summer; very slippery when wet. My main worry is not cars, it's bears. I would not like a tap on my shoulder from one of those things while I'm throwing chains.

Wow, so did the trucker lose his CDL how much did they fine him? Pretty sure they'll make him pay for the damages to the car:biggrin_25513:

We all know how it goes, and somebody should tell the snow its only allowed to deposit in designated chain up areas.
