I live near there too & try to avoid it when possible. Used to be some pretty decent older guys in there that would cut some slack, but thinking it is training ground for State Troopers & DOT.

I would call these guys http://www.roadlaw.net/ Think they are tied in with OOIDA. They can advise over the phone.
Do not know any local lawyers near Springfield that aren't busy chasing ambulances or selling divorce, so cannot help you there.

    TURKER Thanks this.

Hauling Ambulances I was 2250 pounds overweight on a spread axle a few months ago at the Coop just before VA on 95. The scale master told me she would let me go this time but they would eat me up in VA. i dropped a part of the load just before Washington and returned to my normal weight luckily.

first of all don't beat yourself up about it.every person on here has made mistakes.and if they tell you any different their liers.i've been driving 25 yrs and i'm far from perfect.no i haven't done that but you know what #### happens.sometimes were in such a hurry or frenzy it's not hard to make a honest mistake every now and again.and giving a ticket for that amount when technically you weren't even over weight,is pretty chicken #### in my opinion.
