Sorry if I did not respond. It was not on purpose.
I see this from time to time on my laptop. Make sure the USB connection to the computer is all the way in and not at an angle. The USB end on the 720, I lay it flat on the table with the cable hanging over the edge. DO NOT TOUCH the cable. I have noticed that this tends sometimes to drop the handshaking.
Have you tried other USB ports on your computer?
Are you using the USB that came with the 720?
You should always power down the TND before disconnecting or Eject that port. Windows does not yell at you like Apple does, but still it should be gracefully ejected or the device powered down before disconnecting.
Thanks,
Mark

TX I-10 westbound @ 504: unnecessary lane assist (confusing in darkness)
Also I noticed the RM often seems to use a default on/off-ramp length (1/4 mile?). This is usually fine, but frequently Texas will have you exit to a service road 3/4 mile before the cross street. Again easy to overcome in daylight, but confusing as heck at night when you're 1/4 mile past the exit and just now starting to look for signage... -

Now not only does it keep loosing the connection, but the GPS reads the same error as the first one I had:
"Application Hermes4.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down."
WTF...I've been purchasing electronic hardware and software for over 30 years, everything from Commodore 64's to Ipad's, Android tablets, laptops, desktops, various GPS devices and NEVER have I ever experienced this level of frustration!!!!!
In Skokie, do they have a technical help center? (I live in Chicago, I can drive over),Last edited: Nov 27, 2013

How do I stop this thing from warning me about dirt roads? I am driving up in the oil fields in ND and everything is a dirt road. The warnings also dont go away like the others.

Mine is set to allow also mark and my warnings don't go away either. It's annoying cause I haul tankers and take a lot of what it classifies as dirt roads. Having to click the notification box
every 5 seconds is annoying. I've also tried it with it turned off and same thing. -
Thanks,
Mark
