m100463 donaldson good muffler. Don't you think the turbo creates back pressure enough for the engine.
Will straight pipes hurt my valves?

I run 8" stacks with my 3406E and it was pretty harsh at the higher end of the tach range. It was making little old ladies swerve to the shoulder! So I put one Pittsburgh Power short high flow muffler in before the Y. It mellowed out a bunch, but still has that traditional sound.
I still have critics but not as many. I just tell these nannies to go find a better cause worthy to protest, we all have a different style, and "Shouldn't you be running off to your little tea party or flower club meeting now?"truckman29801 Thanks this. -
Well when i put them on i noticed the turbo whistle came back x2 of what ive heard. And the truck seems to be running smoother, it didnt throw a code or anything , it just seemed rough . Now it pers, and yeah they are Donaldson

And to be honest i could care less about how others think my truck sounds. I like it loud if i want and quiet as well. If i get my hands on another 6v92 or 8v71 im gonna make it straight pipe

I run straights on my ISX and Detroit 12.7 and you really can hardly tell it idling or not under load. It's under load that they start to sound off.
