The easiest one ive ever crossed was in Idaho. It's been awhile ago so can't remember exactly where. All I did was drive up to the booth shut the trk off so the noise wouldn't hurt their poor little ears. Then walk inside show paper work, all was done in less then half hr.

I just did it this week. Crossed into Portal, ND and told them I had a potential load in Madison. Didn't get a load and now I'm about to cross at Sarnia, ON. Beat taking Highway 17 through Northern Ontario.

Don't forget about bridge tolls and speed limiter settings for Ontario also.

Very, very illegal hauling some types of food loads. I was warned about this when I drove reefer. Canada has some rules concerning the transport of certain goods into and back out of Canada. Your company will know. Follow their directions. If you do it on your own and get your load hung up in customs it won't go well for you and your career.

Plus, you can't just cut across in a commercial vehicle simply because you have a passport. You need paperwork for the load as well. When I have to make border crossings I look up the rules and make all the necessary calls. I don't try to remember it because I don't do it frequently enough.

    x2 on that one.

Truck has to be locked at 65. You see guys once in a while running over that, which doesn't bother any of us really as it's them who are taking the risk of getting caught and for me it just means they get past me quicker. Much better than having a truck that's going .2 mph faster than you making you slow down so he doesn't sit beside you for 4-5 miles.

Sweetgrass is a pretty easy one, hasn't been too busy either time I crossed.
