Just had a 2005 freightliner in my shop three days in a row for the throttle cutting out, check engine light, and hard start. No codes showed up. In the end it was the suction hose to the fuel filter/separator. Was full of aluminum fillings from the tank. Do you have a clear bowl water separator? If so, and it fills up after you shut the engine off, it's likely your problem.

I had a similar problem a few months back and it ended up being a wire supplying power to the ecm. It was recommended that I replace the entire engine wiring harness asap ($600 part). In the meantime, they ran a separate wire to supply power. In any case, the engine wire harness needs to be replaced after a truck has x amount of miles on it. I want to say 500k is where most tend to start failing...but it could be lower.

But before you go ahead as say "hey it's the wire harness" there's other areas to check like the fuses in/near the battery box, cab fuse box, battery cables and terminals clean, etc. Check for engine codes too. A shutdown due to low fluids or pressure should register.

    Thanks Guys,

I found the problem. It was a wire going from the battery to the front right where it comes out of the battery box.
    Thank you all.
