I have been thinking about getting back into truck driving and ran across Millis Transfer. I was wondering if it was a good company? If anyone has any helpful info to tell me would be helpful in making my decision. I have read some about their truck driving school in Georgia and I'm maybe 5 and 1/2 hours from there I'm in South Carolina. I have to get my CDL's I gave them up about 7 years ago when I didn't drive for a few years that was one of my many big mistakes but I will do what I have to do to get them again. Any drivers that work for Millis now if you have any thing good or bad to say just wanting to know something about them and thanks.

Millis has a page on here with a lot of information. The search button is your friend.

Millis has been great to me... ur in a state where u could prob go regional if you want to be home weekends. But over the road is always there if u prefer it... I had a 2013 truck within 3 months of completing school... dispatcher will really make or break your experience here. Overall its one of the best companies for getting ur experience in and making pretty good pay while doing it. Hometime is normally no problem. I average 3200+ miles a week. There is some changes coming that may or may not bother you. Biggest one is cameras facing inside and out.

You can't go wrong at Millis...even with the "changes" that some gripe about...they have the customer base and history in this industry which helps you be successful. I'm not with them anymore but I'm glad I got my start there...might not of made it otherwise.

Millis does have a good customer base,l live in Pennsylvania so after my home time there's like 3-4 shippers I pick up from no more than hour away from the house, lately I've had no trips under 600 miles only thing that chaffes my backside is the waiting to get loaded/unloaded lol

I've never heard negative feedback on Millis. There's a terminal near where I live (Langhorne, PA) and I've often thought about looking into them too until I found my home with Foodliner.
I'm probably getting up in the years that would limit my flat-bed abilities.

Yeah, I think I'll settle on the tankers.

I begin training with Millis in 2 days at the Burleson, Texas Terminal. I am very far from being an expert, but as I was trying to decide on a company to pursue, I read literally hundreds of pages on this forum concerning different carriers and the pros and cons. After reading all of that, and cross referencing the top three choices, I determined that Millis was by far the best. The largest negative is the Dash Cam issue, but I believe that is outweighed by all the positives. With that said, I also have a lot of negatives in my past that I have struggled with overcoming for a long time now, Millis contacted me and accepted my application while many others I had talked to just flat out said no, The home time is good, the pay is good, the vacation time is good, the trucks are good, from what I have seen the mileage is good. Besides the dash cam issue I have never heard anything negative specifically relating to dispatchers, terminals, or the way the Millis drivers are treated. in the few Millis drivers I have met, each has been polite and helpful. Maybe in a few weeks I can give more insight, but I decided to go with Millis and I'm sure you can't go wrong doing so as well.
