Could live behind anything with enough care. It is easier to tear up a 2050ft lb transmission behind a 1650ft lb motor with an idiot behind the wheel, than it is to tear up a 1450ft lb transmission behind a 1850ft lb motor with a good driver behind the wheel.
I wouldn't bother making that swap myself though.....

It will last if you follow the directions on how to shift it. The super 10 behind the c15 in the 379 I was driving worked pretty good until different people started driving it. Now its noisy and the syncros are shot. I wouldn't recommend it if you are always at max wight and driving through anything other than flat land.

if you change out for say a 13 or an 18 your final drive ratio's will be way off and you will also need to change gearing, so if you do swap tranny's take this into consideration as it can get very costly if you have to add a gear change

    Huh?
In a 13 speed, 12th gear is direct, same as most 10 speeds in top gear. So how exactly would that require a gear change? Your final drive ratio has nothing to do with the cost of cheese bud. If 13th is too deep for your rear end ratio, you leave it in 12th, or is that just me making things too easy?
Also, there are numerous torque ratings for all transmissions, so a "super 10" can come in various flavors of torque ratings. On a 18 speed, they go like this:
RTLO16918A is rated at 1650ft lbs.
RTLO18918A is rated at 1850ft lbs
RTLO20918A is rated at 2050ft lbs
RTLO means Roadranger Twin countershaft, Low inertia concept, Overdrive.
First two numbers are the torque rating for the transmission, on EF transmissions. Third number is the design level. Last two numbers are the number of gears it has, last letter is the gear ratio set. A is the taller geared in the lower gears, than B (IIRC)

Oh yeah, big difference. Some of us go off memory and experience, not Google, so it can get a little muddled the older we get:biggrin_25519:
So you run it in 11th instead of 12th.....Regards "having" to change rear ends out, again, HUH?
Absolutely no need at all, assuming one can count to 11 I guess....
