Thanks, 101! I guess if Prime is the direction I take and everything goes good, I'll just have to smile and suggest that since the rider is not a driver, she has to sleep when I sleep and they certainly don't want their driver trying to sleep in the seat and the driver surely doesn't want to suggest to the boss lady she needs to sleep in the seat! Can you get worker's comp for a couple of black eyes?? :biggrin_25521:

Dodgerfan (and anyone else reading this),
I know this has been said on this thread and probably many other threads as well but it can never be stressed enough. My advice to you is reveal everything. Open the book wide open and don't even think abouit taking a chance on holding something back. If you got busted for taking whiz on the side of the road 25 years ago (not sayin you did), tell them. Don't hold nothing back. Nothing. Especially in regards to your driving record. If they ask for a history going back 10 years give it to them even if you know it's "off the record" after 3 years. They are not looking to see how many mistakes you have made in your past (within reason) as much as they want to know how honest you are.
Along those lines..... from the day you step into an instructors truck and forward, if you ever have any kind of incident where any kind of damage is done, regardless of how minor it is, report it, report it, report it. If you don't and they find out about it, you are done. Period. And you may find it extremely difficult if not downright impossible to get back intio a truck with any company. Back in the 90s, I trained a driver at JB Hunt who had a minor scrape at a truckstop. They figured to "take care of it" on their own rather than report it. Bad move. The incident was reported to HQ by the other driver and the driver I trained was fired immediately. Don't gamble on this because it just is not worth it. Good luck.

Also... things may drop off your active DMV record after three years in regards to the point system attached to a license, but... EVERY contact you have had with the law is in your complete DMV record. Get in a serious scrape with the law over driving, and a DA will have everything since you first took out a tricycle. That record can be accessed in it's entirety by the investigators looking into your background at any motor carrier. Your vehicular faux pas never go away... they are just ignored for the sake of keeping you on the road in a 4-wheeler.

Fair enough, thank you for the info.. I just hope that it doesn't stop me from getting on with Prime. I have been a tow truck driver for about 9 years now. And I wont lie I went through a few years of thinking I could get away with driving however I wanted.. if you go back 5 years or so i have 2 speeding tickets, a following too close, crossing a double yellow line.. a seat belt, and two cell phone tickets.. go back 10 years and you can add a couple accidents.. Doesn't paint a pretty picture, but I also drive far more then the average 4 wheeler... I have spent a lot of time crossing my t's and dotting my i's I even make it a point to stay behind you guys while driving the flatbed.. insuring im not speeding or anything wrong.. I just hope my efforts at cleaning my driving record and getting myself together and ready to be a truck driver have not been in vain.. or worse, i hope i dont have to go to Swift... lol. thanks again guys

Yes they will accept it. When you test out through Prime you will be issued a MO CDL and will need to get it changed to GA within 30 days. I think thats the time frame.

Is there a company owned hotel at Pittston? Do you get your own room? Terminal have a decent cafeteria, exercise room, etc ( I know it's not like the Millennium Building, just wondering) company store? Can you buy things and use pay deduction as opposed to cash, etc? Thanks!
