That is true and i'm very well aware of it but as i stated in first post, my real profit lies somewhere else.
My plan for beginning was like this:
1: get around 10 trucks from a dealer with a discount on whole package, paid in cash
2: recruit drivers through friends recommendations, people i can personally rely on, i'll pay a little more than industry average and bonuses
3: get loads from boards like truckersedge.net and similar
I know is not going to be easy but i'm not ashamed of learning, also my edge and true profit in this business lies somewhere else so my only concern with this scheme is not going in minus, negative deficit but i guess that would only happen when having a very bad luck :)

If I had half a mill I would pay cash for a home and go to sleep for a few months.

    OK here is my advice,

    get realistic.

That said - go spend about $40k into research and planning, do not do it yourself but go to a company like Plante Moran, Deloitte, Ernst and Young to have them do the work for you and set up a plan.

get a law firm behind you, you will need it. pay their retainer and then use them to do all the legal stuff for you.

Remember this is a highly competitive business and $500k with 10 trucks will drive the business into the ground. Just your back up cash will be half if not two thirds of that amount.

it is obvious you are clueless about the industry so go get a CDL and work for a company first just to understand the basics - most bad and going to fail start ups are that way because the people at the top don't do what the people at the bottom do.

Stop planning on trying to figure out where to get loads, what trucks to buy and if a dealer will give you a break. Just getting a loan may be hard to do, 10 trucks at $120k each will be $1.2M plus taxes and then you have other expenses for each of them.

    Fake or Fail!

Only reason why people go into business is to make money. MAKE MONEY. MAKE PROFITS. Why else go thru such expense? See you at the hunger line....
