Scott of Islay Alberta runs an outfit called Scottys Hauling. They haul grain, fertilizer and sand across Alberta and Saskatchewan. I did some work for him in the spring of 2013 and was stiffed for 11000 dollars. I sent it to a collection agent after 3 months of hearing sob stories of how his bank wouldnt transfer the money, he was going to cash RRSPs, he didnt collect money to pay me etc. In the meantime, he managed to pay the contractors that were building his new shop, and put down deposits on new equipment. Be warned.....he will offer you lots but deliver little. I also sent 3 friends to work for this guy. Two were paid late, but did get it. The third is waiting like I am.

Horrible brain fart here guys. The skunk that is stealing from everyone in sight is Scott.... MY bad! The company name is Scottys Hauling based in Islay AB. From what Im hearing....his ways have caught up to him in business. Equipment repo'd and Revenue Canada seizing bank accounts.....looks good on him.
Jackholes like this have a way of coming back to life though. No doubt he will be screwing guys again before too long, so be warned. Scott from Islay Alberta.....remember that name and steer clear.
To Scott....1000 apologies. Never met the guy, but in the course of my free advertising campaign for Scottys, I have learned that Scott is a guy involved in the business in the same part of the world. From everything I have heard, he is a stand up guy that IS honorable. You can't imagine how bad I feel naming a good guy in place of a snake. Sorry again. Never meant to insult you.

BEWARE this guy doesn't pay anyone. got stiffed a year ago on a winch for $1200.00. talked to the driver after, driver informed me it was taken off his paycheck. the guy is a double worm.

i keep hearing more and more stories johnny. un-effin-believable that someone hasnt taken some more serious action against this lowlife yet. apparently the business name Scottys Hauling is dead and Revenue Canada has seized whatever was available, so that shouldnt be a problem for a while yet......but weasels like this have a way of returning. Scott Simmons will likely be along again soon under a new name scamming and stealing as always. wish i had a picture to throw up here....

We had to chase him too. It was a shame, because we liked the job.

scott phoned me last night to inform me that he never deducted our towing fees from his driver as i had earlier posted. scott we're sorry for calling you a double worm, there is always two side to the story. scott's always answers his phone when you call, he doesn't hide on you. but i guess he had some hard times and fell behind. lession learned no credit card, your still stuck.

Dale worked for me in the month of may 2013. I am here to set the record straight. He was paid in full through a collection agency in sept before he even started writing on line. There never was purchase of new equipment and no contractors for a building. There was equipment on order from almost 6 months before I met dale but never took delivery. Over the 3 months I had made payments towards his account but he sent to collections. I personally have done the same with many accounts and held no ill will towards him for that. It is true scottys went under and a couple of lease ops never got paid as well as a fuel bill a tow bill and 3 other vendors. Being a inexperienced owner op like dale who really hasn't seen what the industry is really like, I got to wonder what world he lives in. Our industry is based on a very unstable economy which has stretched many small business owners and put them out of business. I am not here to bash him and get in a pissing match it just needs to be known that his whole blog is ########. You have no reason to #####. The 3 guys who never got paid are and should be upset. I have been in that position a few times myself. Not pleasant. And another person sarah wrote in that she chased me as well...You and your husband worked 11 days in june. When starting I said no advances. first week you asked for one because you had switched so many jobs you couldn't afford truck payment. So I gave you a advance. 3 days later your husband drops off a trailer with $3000 worth of damages and quit cause you said you heard a rumor that I hadn't paid someone. That's fine no problem best of luck. Pay day came and I drove a hour with a certified cheq and deposited to your account. No deductions taken full cheq given on time. I know its easy for people to jump on the negative band wagon but all you do is fuel guys like this other idiot. All that happens is slander that doesn't allow a person to start over and provide for his family and black ball him in a industry that I have had a perfect 20years in. As far as starting over. Yes dale I will start over and hire more people. I have gentlemen who have worked for me in the past are encouraging me to. I have 7 drivers who are wanting me to find a way to start over. And I have 3 lease op's that would love for me to be able to pay them. This time hopefully I don't have customers that go bankrupt and can't pay me as to not cause me hardship. So I am sure you will respond with blah blah blah poor me. Grow up move on and stop the slander your just looking like a fool.

Scott.
What you're doing are half-truths. When we took you on, we told you we needed to be paid by a certain date PRIOR to us hooking up to your trailer. When that date came, you couldn't pay the entire thing as agreed.
This is the first time we have ever heard of trailer damage. If we had $3000 of damages, you would of had a legitimate reason NOT to pay us. However, you paid us, and it is a complete fabrication about the trailers.
You are correct though... Because of a gut feeling, and others who have steered us in the right direction, we dropped your trailers. We were using OUR fuel cards that are payable on a NET 30. I would not risk our business to elevate yours at our cost.
I wont respond to your posts any further Scott. If you had a conscience, you wouldn't have taken on another o/o "hoping" that you can pay him.
I said nothing but the truth as stated above. We had to make a number of phone calls to you to honour your commitment prior to pulling, and that my the job itself was great.
Take care of yourself Scott... and also those whose who either work for you, or pull for you. Your success in the future will be dependant on them. -
aw scott. so sorry your feeling got hurt as the truth surfaces. im short 5286 because of you. you can deny it if you like, but there are others showing up with the same story. the purpose of this thread and its heading is to help business owners avoid headaches like what you caused. the truth is what it is. when reading other stories from other business owners, its easy to wade through the unwarranted crying and what is legit. thanks for coming around here to verify what I said though. you have stiffed several guys for big money. yes a collection agent was able to recoup some for me, but im still short. good luck in the future. there are lots of jobs in alberta, so im sure you will find one. I hope you don't end up trying to run a company again though as id hate to hear of more guys getting the same treatment down the road.

Yes this guy is a is a sleeze ball bottom feeder I was currently hired on as an owner op he bounced my first chq and the second that was deposited a week late and now just this past Friday he calls and tells me he's done and selling out and that it. He currenty owes me anywhere from 10 to 15 thousand after seeing this forum looks like I'm prolly not getting paid it's to bad that he is probably going to choose that route but if your gonna #### somebody make sure you know who ur going to #### because you never know what measures the guy you ###### will take to get what's owed to me!
