Where did you get that much cash? From some sucker in the USA? And with that kind of cash, can't you live with out work for a lifetime in Nigeria??

Congrats on your 500k windfall, now please be smart and....well, what the heck were you doing before you had 500k burning a hole in your pocket. Trucking is a small margin high risk venture. Why in the world, knowing nothing would you want to do this...At least do get your Class A CDL so you can tell which side is the greasy side. Honestly, with all due respect your going to lose that money if your try to do trucking. How do I know? I tried it with about 6 months OTR experience, got ####y thought I could do better, got my authority and ran a two truck operation. Margins are tiny, and when one idiot burned one of my engines up, it was all down hill after that.

 

Take your 500k and invest in some UAV companies, the FAA is integrating the airspace NOW for the use of Unmanned Air Vehicles. It is the future of aviation, get on the wave.

 

Bad idea. If he doesn't know anything about trucking, how will he know what companies to invest in? I NEVER invest in something I do not understand, I have had several fund managers try to talk me into the next great thing but I tell them "I don't know anything about that business or industry". Sometimes I leave money on the table and miss out on some great opportunities but usually I do something with that money that I know is a good deal but may earn me less ( I sleep better at night like that).
Besides, the second the Fed announces it is tapering bond purchases, the stock market will crash and burn. He'll have a half second window to get his money out of stocks and into treasuries.

 

Only thing I'll say is? starting a business you don't know anything about, is not very smart!!, if you have that kind of money to start a business, then look to something you know

 

Yeah, go get your CDL and buy yourself a nice used truck and hit the road for a year or two, journal you travels and experience, then see if its something you truly want to do.

Or just go to vegas and get it over with, you will have more fun.
