No need to get snippy, Jim. You made a statement, I just brought it to light.c Trust me, HB gives you NOTHING CLOSE to what they get. As a matter of fact, in comparison with a close friend who is still enduring the poop at HB, I was getting anywhere from .10-.17 cpm more than he on fsc. I was just paid 100% of whatever fuel surcharge was collected for the load, since I bought the fuel. Without the type of deadheads that HB is famous for (Denver to Lexington, Denver to Holcomb for example) it worked out quite nicely. I brought home way more than I ever did at HB, even paying for plates, insurance, peoplenet and my own tolls except for PA Turnpike. I love that company, they had me running 2500-3000 miles per week, home every other weekend (my choice, most guys were home every week), and sometimes during the week. Wonderful people, hands on owner. PM if you're interested, they would really love someone like you. The only reason I left is because I had to move back to Hawai'i to take care of my elderly mother, who can't be alone now. Maybe I'll drive a tour bus....Aloha!

Hillsbros ,any real issues? Leaving a company that I have been with six years. Headed to Omaha January 6th. Buying one of there trucks or lease to own. All companies have issues they seem good to go. I believe they are small.

The only issue I hear is from drivers that should never have leased in the first place, but that isn't a fault of the company.

Thanks driver. Heard both good and bad. Sometimes drivers don't realize what they're getting into. I've talked with about five drivers from hillsbors and four out of five like the company. Trying to get some more information. Be safe and thank you again.

Never could understand why (if a person proves their competent and dependability) a driver can't be pre-planned on ATLEAST their next load. My last OTR company (small) had my whole week planned----I NEVER sat waiting on a load.

You look at any load board, there are loads posted to "pick-up" three and four days ahead of time.....you can get anywhere in that amount of time. There is no reason to sit and wait for loads.

These large companies will sit you 1, 2, 3 days waiting to see if one of THEIR regular shippers MIGHT need a load moved---in the mean time, the driver is spending money instead of making money.

I think one difference lies in whether the bought their equipment out right or lease it. Knight bought their equipment and the only time I ever hauled a brokered load was when I went to Montana because they didn't have any customers up there.

Pride on the other hand leased their equipment and they had to keep it moving. I would say about a 1/3 of my loads there where brokered loads and they kept the truck moving if the driver had hours to run.
