    Hello

I am looking at puchasing a fleet of trucks and have narrowed myself down to the Peterbilt 386 with the Cummins ISX in it with 450 horse and approx 400k.

I am only hauling around 40,000. I am also hoping to be able to put 500k on it without any major issues.

    Any advice is welcomed.

There is a lot of information on this site pertaining to the ISX and maintenance and repair issues. Would be worth your while to really read up on this before you make any decisions.

If they are 2011-2013 year engines, I'd avoid them. My company is regretting buying a handful of new Cummins a few years back and will be glad to get them out of the fleet. They have a lot of issues, mostly related to the emissions systems. Can't speak for new engines today if maybe they have fixed a lot of those issues (if you're looking at new)

If you're buying 2-3 year old equipment today, I'd be looking only at Detroits

I am looking at buying a couple from 2008-2010. I don't want to get into anything new because of price and emissions wise. If I can score some that are pre DEF AND DPF that would be great.
