We have been with a dedicated account with USX for almost a year now. Me and hubby team driving. They gave us a 2012 Cascadia. From day one we have had mechanical issues. Mostly with the DEF. Having to stop several times a day to do manual regens. It has been in the shop so many times. About 5. This time not only has it been making us do manual regens, but the truck won't get up to temperature. 100 is all that registers. No heat!!! When we were out west it was. Dry cold while we were driving. But we had home time for thanksgiving and put it in the freightliner shop in orlando. Well, 7 days later and it's still in there. Our house is actually in another state, but family lives in Florida. So we have been in hotels and with a rental car. Our fm says different things each time we talk to him. 'They won't let me have any trucks, there are no trucks available, then I'll have to get with the equipment manager'. I'm not disrespecting him. I know sometimes poop happens but we are so frustrated right now. Anybody else having issues?

With a bit of luck I hope it gets fixed. I had issues with my first truck at US Xpress, had bad spot on the starter. After a couple of jump starts by TA and then getting towed to the Irving, TX terminal they still hadn't replaced the starter. Then it failed to start again a couple of weeks later when I was at home in OK. Got jumped and got to OKC and told the guys in the shop that the truck was not leaving the terminal untill they replaced the starter. They had to start the truck 34 more times before the "bad spot" showed itself and they were able to replace it under warrenty.

Also had a volvo that needed a new clutch that was becoming a safty issue. They told me keep driving till it broke and I let them know that I would not be moving that truck in any direction other than the nearest terminal, Medway, and that's where they sent me. I was there for 7 days but it did finally get fixed.

Some times it pays to be as stuborn as a goat. If it's a safty issue, dont drive it. Worst thing they can do is fire ya, worst the an unsafe truck can do is kill ya.

Hope this helps, btw, I'm in Cape Canaveral myself these days and it's a beautiful day today! Love living on the Florida coast!

There are certainly some lemons out there with the new trucks. As much as you might not want to, tell them to get you another truck or you will leave. There are tons of comapnaies that you could work for since everyone loves teams and they know that. If they wont treat you right atleast threton to leave. If they dont have a new truck for you asap..then i'd recommend leaving. You cant make money doing regens several times a day. Assuming you have a good driving record you could pick up a job tomorrow running team for someone else.

yea, that's basically what it has come down to. We haven't come out and said we would leave but they now understand how upset we are. Since we are dedicated we are guaranteed miles but I'm not even sure we are getting paid right for that. It's all very complicated. (They say). So we were wondering is the OTR side might be better. I didn't want to give a 2 week notice cuz I figured they would stop looking for a truck for those 2 weeks. They just called and they are getting us into another truck finally... If OTR might be better for us, we may go that route.

Call crete or heartland, I'm sure they'll take you on with enough experience. I wouldn't put up with that.

Just if you do this make sure you tell them your bringing truck back and take back to their yard NOT under a load. Very important!! Get hired with another company first. Teams they be all over you soon as you call. GL be safe.

I agree. We would never leave under a load. If we do leave it will be with a 2 week notice if possible. But we would never leave under a load.

We went thru this situation a few months ago. Our ProStar started on fire & we were in a hotel for 2 weeks. USX told us they have a ProStar for us in Oregon we needed to pick up. Someone was supposed to call me about getting a rental car. They never did so I kept calling all day. The next day my FM accused me of never calling so they assigned that truck to someone else. We were pissed. I called HR right away & explained what happened to us. We told them we were quitting because it was unacceptable my FM telling me I'm a liar. HR got on top of it right away. They got us a 2014 Cascadia & it was at Markham. They even gave us plenty of days to get situated in the truck. We live in Chicago so it worked out for the best.

When this kind of stuff happens....bypass your FM. Call HR. Because of this incident, I developed a relationship with HR & other people within the company. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

We were at the Markham terminal for Thanksgiving. I talked to several drivers who were assigned brand new Cascadias. Most of them were automatics.

Which dedicated account are you on ? We are on the CEVA. We did OTR and it sucked ! We are getting 6,000 + miles a week doing dedicated, the people within the company we deal with are nicer & the CEVA trailers are in excellent condition.

    Us too
. Same dedicated account. But big difference in miles. The last month every week was 3k-4k. One week we actually got 5k. We kept being told how slow ceva is right now. Plus something isn't adding up with our 'guarantee'. I keep trying to get in touch with the person that does that (shall remain nameless here) to go over my books compared to their books but timing seems to be off. We were getting great miles before when we first started. But it's been going down hill ever since.

We started Ceva two weeks ago so the miles are good right now but we'll see if it stays like this.

Ceva does their payroll from Saturday to Saturday. US Xpress does theirs Tuesday to Tuesday.

Does US Xpress say you don't qualify because it was in the shop ?
