i dont know. i honeatly think o/o make more than 60k a yr. thats my ultimate goal. not lease. own
-
That amount depends on SO many things!! Not just miles, but also the truck; breakdowns, repairs, time not rolling... Etc.Arkansas Frost Thanks this.
-
well............hellloooooooo friends lol. i just put my name out there as a horrible trucker report forumn member. in the everything about everything thread. glad to be back here, where things makes sense.
-
still honestly. o/o makes more than company. not always i guess like you said. but man theres some loads i woulda refused today as a owner. why people order a 53 foot in the city is beyond me.

As a former business owner, I have to say your statements are incongruous. When you own a business you go where the money is, not where you're most comfortable. As an o/o you will either stay where you're comfortable and make do with less money, or you'll chase the buck and go some places you'd rather not.Arkansas Frost, Ice Train, Stroker73 and 1 other person Thank this.

Nothing like getting to KFCI at 1530 to pick up your 0200 load to be told they're waiting on product and not sure when they can get me in a door for a live load. Trying to find a place to park here out of the way is impossible.
Prostar_Central Thanks this. -
Right now I figure I'm clearing about .40 cpm, including time off. But, I'll be able to smooth that number out as I get more data. There certainly is money in o/o (unlike some proposed when I first came to this board), but there is sacrifice too. The fixed cost of leasing will drive you like an unrelenting whip. And youralways looking for those few more miles on the week. I hope to improve my cpm as my driving improves. Which leads me to a difference in driving o/o and company. As company you only really worry about time, as o/o you worry about every cost factor. Am I driving fuel efficient? Would another route use less fuel? Am I over braking and wearing more quickly? Did I put enough weight on tne tandems to reduce truck tire wear? Where are the cheapest and most efficient places to fuel (do I really want to pull an extra thousand pounds of fuel over mountains if I don't have to?) And a myriad of other things that come up. Personally I like the details, but others may not.
I only have another 3 months or so to accumulate solo numbers though, then I plan on training...a whole new set of numbers.
I know this isn't a direct answer to your post, but I was going to put it out there anyway and thought some of it may intrest you.
