Have you contacted the police about the matter?
-
Fire him. Could be a problem though unless MI is an "at will" state.
You might just fire him and not give a reason, depending on the "at will" law. Ask an attorney, "is t legal to fire this guy and not give him a reason?"
If you don't get rid of the guy, he will be selling or swapping out tires for cash.Last edited: Dec 4, 2013

That's a felony... "Theft- $1500 - $20,000"
Sounds like a police matter to me. I wouldn't even deal with him personally. -
Better have evidence to back up the claim.

Keep his last check and fire him....or get the police involved. As Blind said, be sure you are right but at $3200 more in fuel than you should have spent for the miles I am sure you are.
-
Yes I have proof, if the truck actually used that much fuel he would have to get 3.2 mpg for three weeks. The last month before this driver the truck got 7.45mpg.
-
Fire him. But only if you can prove it. He is a thief, and he is stupid as well. To think you would not notice he bought 800-850 more gallons than needed in just a few weeks.
pattyj Thanks this.
