Its been awhile since Ive posted anything, Been super busy hauling nitrogen out of Grand Prairie.. Question I have, anyone familiar with operating N2 pumps? I have the opportunity to change from Bulk Nitrogen to running N2 pumps, Id like to hear pros and cons if anyone has any feed back or experience.Or if anyone is currently operating!!

    Thanks in Advance

Congrats, not sure what route your taking, beware of road conditions. Returned from Grand Prairie to Kamloops last night. Road maintenance sucks especially Hwy 40.Make sure your vehicle has good tires, block heater and coolant is all good. Enjoy the season!!

    Better paid than bulking
You'll be a more valuable employee
Pay increases as a pump operator with experience
More interesting/challenging to learn the pump and physical characteristics of pumping N2
    Could lead to other things

    -
Boring being stuck in a small pump cab
Once trained up, it is what it is
Not many career opportunities as N2 is usually a small part of a bigger operation in well servicing
Not much variety unless you do stand alone work such as purges on low rate pumps
Low rate units are sort of fragile and break down often
High rate units tend to blow up frequently

If you learn to do a quality cool down, n2 pumps are more reliable and less maintenance than fluid pumpers. More money for less hours. Bulkers are are always humping to get another load for the next job. Pump operators are sleeping in a nice warm hotel bed. I say go for it.

Thanks freedom4me. Heading out of Vancouver and ending up in Prince George first night. Yes, tires, block heater, and coolant is good to go.
