Greetings everyone! I am thrilled to be starting my training and first job as a trucker with Prime. Passed my CDL permit test, have ordered my passport, have collected my medical records, started collecting things to pack, and am very excited about embarking on a new career. I did a lot of research on potential companies to start with and decided that Prime best meets my priorities and I have read mostly positive reviews. So, I have been accepted into the training program and am proud to be a new member of the Prime family. So, anyone else starting Jan 7? Anyone with words of wisdom for a newbee? Yeah, I've read dozens of posts, but still . . . how about Prime Specific words of wisdom?
Thanks!![]()

I'm 83.295187% sure I will be there jan 7. I haven't set it in stone yet with Prime, but I'm going to take the written tests for my permit on Monday, just need to call my recruiter up and get everything finalized.

I love your degree of accuracy! Good luck on the permit test and I hope to see you there!

Don't be afraid to speak up for yourself but be reasonable! You will be put into some tough situations but always remain respectful. Be willing to go the extra mile and take that load that sucks but don't become the overly abused rookie that never reaps rewards of great miles and trips to places you want to see or relax in. Drive slow and look thrice when backing. Your great record is only as good as your CURRENT load! Remember that!!! Take pictures and video, Eat healthy wherever you can. Bring an emergency bucket with cat litter in it and baby wipes for on the road bowel emergencies!!! This is real talk brother. LEARN TO CHAIN YOUR DRIVE TIRES BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE YARD!!! I learned a tough lesson on chains while crossing Monarch pass in Colorado. STAY AWAY FROM TAKING ADVANCE PAY AND BEWARE OF CASINOS! No cruise control in rain or snow EVER! Foot off the accelerator when crossing small bridges, or coming in and out of tunnels in icy weather. Even with a bluetooth headpiece and phone call can be distracting enough to end lives. Stay alert! Stay Alive!

Goodluck too you guys starting January 7. I start Prime January 3, but taking that greyhound ride new years day to be their early. I plan on taking the permit with them and save the $125 dmv charges and the $89 for the dot physical that dont count at Prime. I know ppl say take it before your go there, but ill save that extra money for the road. Hopefully we might run into each other.
