Been with Averitt since June as a Regional OTR. I am liking it so far. They don't lie about the home weekly part, they haven't failed me on that yet, though the hours you have home can vary greatly. Being governed at 65 is great since I was an England driver for 6 months and they are governed at 62. Its easy to get past JB, Schneider, Prime, England, and most of the Werner trucks. The ones that are a pain are Fedex, Estes, Yellow, and the other companies that are governed close to or at 65 themselves. You get maybe 1 mph better than some and you crawl past.
witch of these three would you recomend hogan averitt or roehl

******Update********
well after much deliberationI have decided to go with Hogan they just seem to be the better fit for my needs at the moment. -
Good Luck.. -
I only know of Hogan. Stay away. Went to the orientation yesterday, what a waste.
No itinerary whatsoever. Had over an hour of salesman from prepaid legal and open road prepaid..... what kind of crap is that!? Very unorganized.
Then go take a break...... so you get up use the bathroom and grab coffee or water.... then soon as you sit down, time for wiz quiz.. you would think that they would tell you not to use the bathroom.
Then they use a chiropractor with two girls to do the physicals.... yes a chiropractor. Wow... but he is DOT certified. What a joke.
I did not return today as I was promised a day job. Drove 300 miles to get here to hear oh you will be worked into the rotation. Nights days etc. Wrong. -
Was this in Columbus Ohio???
-
No over in Bridgeton, MO.

I worked for hogan the thing i didnt like was what they use for apu. Its battery operated and would not work more then 4 or 5 hours. You cannot idle no matter what you do 5 minutes and it shuts down. 90 percent east coast runs. The automatic was ok until you had to reverse up a slight incline then it overheats. I think averitt would have been better choice.
-
I don't know about the other two but have worked for averitt out of their columbus,oh yard for a year now. they are a good company and do get you home every weekend (unless you want to stay out) the pay is good and the benefits(health ins, ect.) are great. most of my runs are in the midwest/south, they have only sent me to the east coast(jersey area) 3 times and do not run any NYC. All the trucks do have apu's the only bad thing about them is they are all automatics and set at 65.
