Why does "backhaul" refer to cheap freight?

How about some brick loads out of Columbus to Grand Rapids for $500 each? Right- let me get right on that... NOT!

$1.52 and end up in GR? Nah...

All of us one day may quit on the same day to boycott........ but what are the chances of getting every trucker to just stop :biggrin_25511:

You don't need every driver. That's the misconception that keeps peole from doing it

Well I am going to do it. I cannot afford a truck payment each month on the wages I end up finishing with. Once the prices hit 4.25, and my company isn't going to raise the rate, my truck is sitting and I am going to work some where else I can atleast afford a payment for the truck. No way I am losing it when I can sell it, that is once the trucking industry is better and people will buy again.

one more good reason I'm glad I don't have a payment on mine. I start m co job this weekend and it can sit untill the freight comes back. Heck, if it takes long enough I'll have one sweet pete by the time I put her on the road!! lol

I made the mistake of being an O/O in the time of a crisis I know, haha. But seeing the trucks previous owner make 500 a week more then me, lured me in. I sure didn't feel like running 2 days away making 400-450, when I knew I could atleast make 800-1200.... But once that repair hit me today, I feel the pinch.

I just got off the phone with the owner of the small co I'm leased to. At $4.25 we're done unless we can get rate increases. That is gonna be pretty bad.

I expect $4.25 with in 2 months, less at the current rate.
