I need suggestions or advice on a company to lease on with. I am a company driver with Maverick and about to step out on my own in the beginning of 2014. I pull a skateboard and live in Memphis, Tn. I need a co with plenty freight/agents in the midwest and sourh. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Ttr truckers are the best. No, it would depend on where you want to run. And what company fits your style.

I run under my own authority but have looked in to Mercer and LS as well in the past, each person will have to figure out what is best for them but when I compared them both Mercer seemed to come out on top, again they are both good and have there pos/neg points so do a little homework, I know Mercer has an entire thread here

I personally decided to go with Long Haul out of MN. for a few various reasons, heading there on Saturday, leaving 85 degree weather for what 5 degree??

The difference in the running areas for Mercet vs Landstar. I am aware of Mercer having coordinators to help out and the percentage difference in pay.

If I was looking to lease to someone and everything was equal between Mercer and LS then I would go Mercer. They seem to be more focused on giving the freight to their trucks before brokering. With LS you have plenty of agents that are just looking to make the most money. Nothing wrong with that but doesn't really work in your best interest.
