I had a trainer from Central Refrigerated who was not just an experienced driver and a really nice guy, he took the time to teach me as much as possible. So i was not just a co-driver making him some money. Going out solo was still very stressful! My second solo load was from Seattle to Miami haha i thought it was gonna be like that all the time.
Refrigerated is a lot more work than dry van though. But Central was a good, fair company to me. No matter what it is tough sharing a truck for one month. Hope you find a good trainer

This is what I'm talking about; someone who doesn't just sit in the seat next to you collecting a pay check but takes the time to TEACH. Isn't that what a TEACHER/TRAINER is suppose to do?
Hey, what's your trainers name? :biggrin_25517:.... thanks for the comments.

I had two trainers with Crete when I first started driving, one sat in the passenger seat and gave direction, the second one, really taught me a great deal, one day we were ahead of schedule so he had me pull into the Flying J in Gary, and the lot was empty so he said "back in there" and then got out and gave direction from the drivers side running board, I backed into the slot, thinking I was done for the day he got off the running board and said "back into that spot over there" then when that was done, he said to "back into that spot over there" he had me do this so many times I lost count, then another load we were going through Tennessee, I was driving, he asked if I was hungry, he would buy my dinner, I readily said I was starving so he had me pull into a Flying J, (I can't remember what town) and he "said back in that spot over there" once I was in, he said back in that spot over there, I made the comment that I was hungry, he said "back into a spot first try and we will go get something to eat"....I made it happen after a couple of tries....
