Wow I would punch these (whistle blowers) in the face. (said the cross was distracted)(I.e. cell phone) also they lrft something out. How do u rear end someone enteringthe hwy when u r exiting?why is that the companies fault. We all have, run overweight and fudged a little on the logs. It's trucking.sry to hear someone lost their life in a accident but in this case how is it the companies fault. Some disgruntled employees are gonna help make these lawyers rich.

For one example, at a cloverleaf interchange. Vehicle entering from on-ramp tries to merge in front of another vehicle, moving left, to the off-ramp.

It says she wa exiting and he was entering. Cloverleaf the one exiting has right away and one entering has to yield. His fault, I would like to read the accident investigation when it comes out. That's crazy and a almost impossible accident.

Because it shows a pattern. The company wasn't driving the truck. But they did create an atmosphere where running overweight and running over hours was expected. That's where the problem is. Yes, we've all run over hours. I don't know about overweight, but we've all run over hours. The company has the obligation to make sure that it's drivers are doing the right thing by the regulations. Anymore that is the norm. Because of CSA, they have to be on the ball. The culture of skirting the rules is over, as the fines are bigger, the consequences tougher. They can and will shut you down. From what drivers are saying, Davis Transfer expected them to run like there's no rules or penalties. No, they are not at fault for this accident. But they've created the catalyst for it.

I think we're all reading more into this so far, no report has been issued other then the driver was ticketed (at least to my understanding). There will always be drivers that say things in front of a camera under a cloak of anonimity, just because they found 3 drivers that were unhappy out of what... some 300-400 trucks means nothing. The driver on the phone, simply put HE was at fault! Not the company, not the dispatcher and not the mechanic and until someone proves anything else we should all be going under the assumption of innocence UNTIL guilt is proven. Every company has people that will try to push others to do their bidding, legal or otherwise for the almighty dollar, some will do it and some won't, some can handle running various degrees of illegal and do well, others???? not so much... But to take three drivers word for something that we don't even know for sure work for the company at all... Come on now, just cause you saw it on TV it MUST be true right?????

Besides, we all know the news media would NEVER misrepresent anyone or anything now would they....

I talked to a Davis driver here in Salisbury, NC last night. He said his dispatcher called him on the phone and said to not stop at any of their two terminals unless he wants to get audited with drug test. He said the DOT is at both terminals pulling drivers off the road that have ever had a discrepancy and doing audits on their logs, bols, etc. He said he drives right by them right now. He doesn't know what is going on, but they get one message on their satcom and then a phone call after telling them to do things different. Apparently, they are in deep from the whistle blowing that happened...

Wow, this will probally follow a similiar path as the Crete Alvin Wilkerson case. There's a Davis yard off exit 11 in GA that I pass often, but haven't seen any fuzz there yet. Good to hear these drivers stood up and brought light to this situation. These companies will treat you however they want...as long as you let them.

I work for this company right now and can tell you that you will spend at least a third of your time sitting and not getting paid for it.Last night I was live unloaded for 10 hours and won't get one red cent for it. This is not uncommon. Every job has it's hang UPS, but there some that have a lot more than others and this is one of them. Do not confuse them with Davis express, two totally different companies in every way. Needless to say I am fed up and will be actively seeking other employment asap.
