Okay folks, I'm hesitant to post this, but we'll give it a shot. I'm looking at 09-10 730's and 780's to replace the starcar. I'm trying to stay as close to $50k as possible. I've looked at new and I've looked at Western Star gliders as well. I know the deal. I just don't want to be a slave to that payment of a new truck. I only run 70-80,000 miles per year. That will increase a little bit, but I'm not going to sacrifice time with my 3yo to have a new truck. I like Volvos and their dealer is 2 blocks from where I park my truck. The shaker dealer is 30+miles, KW, Pete, and International are all 10+ miles and WS is 70+miles(which has sucked for the last 8 years). My Volvo dealer has great reviews from friends that use them as well. I like the idea of the 2011+ D13, but only if it has a great warranty on the after treatment and I've yet to see anything like that even at $70k.
So I hope that heads off all the unnecessary posts that happens here at TTRSo 09-10 ISX or D13? ISX has a lot of aftermarket "fixes" where the D13 seems to be lean on that type of stuff. What say you guys. 13 speed tranny of course since, even though I think the iShift is awesome, I don't want one with 5-600,000 miles on it.
ISX or Volvo?

I would do the volvo with i-shift and the 780
-
If I was going new, I would too. But with 5-600,00 miles on the potential truck, a $3,000 rebuilt trans sounds way better than a $20,000 one.mennen123421 Thanks this.

I have an 2007 d12 vnl780 I-shift trans. About 800,000 miles on her, by far the best truck I ever owned. Go with the Volvo transmission on the d13, 2011 and higher spend a little money on a oil samples for the engine, and throw on the Dino.

Yeah it is the best way to go!

I've never seen a d12 with iShift, I thought they came out with D13 in 2008. My price point excludes any 2011 and up with factory warranty. I'm very comfortable running the miles and having the family time that I do now. I am an atypical owner op, well I'm a typical Landstar BCO. $50k is my price point, and I'm not afraid of deletes, which makes me lean towards the ISX.

They dont seel d12 anyone. d11 d13 d15
-
I know, I was saying they never sold the D12 with an iShift
-
right that is right

Go used with the I-shift you will like me later, the miles on them don't matter the preliminary maintenance is what I would like to look at, I would like to see the maintenence schedule on THAT truck, and know where it came from. Good Luck.
