Annual income is a wide range , some work harder then others , but that is any place. But I know of first year trainees who grossed mid 40s . And goes up from there . I was in the mid 60s last year. Be a little off this year , guessing it was the 34 hour restart changes? Be in the low 60s this year.
-
Thanks. I put in my application. Ive heard nothing but good about this place. And Ive tried to talk to as many as I can. I'll start a thread once Im in orientation
-
I started driving 8/11/13 and so far I've grossed 17K.
5speed Thanks this. -
You like them so far? Any favorite or hated customers ? I hate the fedex i pull. Run all night.

IKEA can be a pain in the ### sometimes as are some of the walmarts depending on the location lol the Amish tobacco farms are bad news if you have a trailer with a bunch of tape and crap on the walls. They aren't like the good ol boys in Kentucky that give you a grinder to clean the walls.....you get a razor scraper and have at it. I just spent 3hrs Friday with a scraper and 2 young Amish boys scraping the walls of a Texas star trailer until the pm guy there said it was clean enough to load his tobacco in.
beyond that most of the customers are generally easy to deal with.5speed Thanks this. -
Bobby in Elizbethtown said he was going to tell EPES not to send TSE trailers for tobacco loads. The main thing I hate about IKEA loads is the early appt. times and no parking at the Elizabeth NJ store.
-
Yeah last time I was in Elizabethtown couple of weeks ago they had TSE trailers lined up gumming up the parking area. Earlywine said they had sent them in there anyway and were waiting for someone to come get them and get them out of there. The load assignment now has a line added to the comments section to not take ANY TSE trailers in there lol
never had any issues at the Elizabeth nj location other than being short miles but I always get layover pay on that trip. I back into a door when I get there and stay there till I get my load out in the morning. Have noticed last 2 times I was there local Leo's were making anyone parked in the lot across the street leave -
Ive never been to Canada but I do already have my passport so I wouldn't mind. I did put my application in today and thank you and sdaniel for all you have answered for me. I've read old posts on here and bascially got my answers. I've got my twic, so not too worried about that. Be weird getting use to a dryvan trailer but Im looking forward to it. Money wise, I forget what the recruiter said with my 5 years OTR but I agreed with it. As long as I can make 500 a week after my child support and taxes Im good. Equipment looks good, What I see on here and what I've heard on the radio seem good. Hate that 62mph but I guess I'll get use to it. I've seen people mention automatic trucks... I dislike that. Do Epes require company uniforms? Ive seen some older drivers wearing a blue dress shirt? It doesnt bother me if they do just wanted to see.
-
Uniforms are available if you want them. We trainers get some really gaudy ugly red ones to wear lol
I'm my own man I wear my own clothes. As long as they're clean and in good repair and you keep yourself presentable and professional to the customer that's what they're looking for.
The autos are in the Volvo 780's and we've got 5 of the 2013 cascadia autos. I had one of the cascadias it sucked. Couldn't get out of it fast enough. The guys with the volvos really like them. I'll take my stick tyvm lol
63mph not 62. Can't forget that 1mph difference hehehe....makes the difference in being able to get around quite a few if you've got clear road to do it. equipment is well maintained and issues when they arise are generally dealt with quickly5speed Thanks this.
