    Called them. Not interested.

My gps gives me the state police. It is like they are not interested in working.

One of these days I will find the one willing to work. I get the ID of the person I am talking to.

I'm in a business now where guys run illegal - and then have the balls to ask me for advice. Not a chance. As a matter of fact, I'll report them every chance I get. Why should I have to pay to be in business only to be beat out in price by someone who is skirting the law.

Same deal here - why would they guys who are paying to do it right, turn around and help their competition who is operating illegally.

No offense meant to OP - I just think your judgment is off on this one.

Last year, the GA DOT starting working on select roads, they were hammering anything that looked commercial, so go around a scale, you might think you get by with it, (If caught they park you at the scale.), but get busted on the road, they'll just tow and impound your equipment, then you get to pay for the towing and storage fees. The one day, they went after landscaping rigs, I saw several trailers loaded onto rollbacks and hauled off.

And that's just the random stops, when something falls off or there's an accident then no lawyer will get the illegal off

I am sure there are guys doing time who had no record except doing something lie this that wish they had just done it right

I know of a guy who knew the rules. Quit running with a company and bought a gooseneck trailer. He ran it for quite a long time.

One day headed north on I 39 within 15 miles of the delivery, an ISP pulled him over for a random.

    1. No signs
    2. No logbook
    3. No medical card.
    4. No authority.
    5. No commercial insurance.
    6. No vehicle inspections.

Truck was impounded. Tow bill and then he had to pay someone a premium to hook and finish the load from the impound yard.

Dollars involved were in excess of 20,000.00.

    GYPSY65 and truckon Thank this.

I know a jackarse friend that was all the above last two posts, PLUS carries loaded weapons in his 2500. I think I finally got through to him, with me and the wife talking to him and his wife about the costs of getting caught. I got lucky when I first started out stupid, but now it's so much easier playing by the rules and the peace of mind that comes with doing this legally is so worth it.

I ran into a guy at a truck stop a few weeks ago with a daully/wedge setup like mine. Real nice guy. He started the convo and told me about how he makes runs with boats and makes a lot of money. He avoids DOT because his name and numbers are on a magnet that he just pulls right off. Told me to do the same because I have stickers as logo on my truck. I'm not into fines and digging my grave. Kept it polite and moved on. He's got 4 duallys running around doing the same thing.
