yep i think if i explain to them that more and more truck drivers are going broke and out of buisness every day, that we need to put a stop to this and it needs to happen soon because trucks are running out of fuel and money and can't afford to move the freight. this means america will stop, and we don't want to see that happen.

There you go, thats the point that we need to make here. Americas consumer market is in jeopardy here, because the trucks can't afford to deliver their products.

Then what happens to the economy? Who should worry? EVERYONE!!

If The Trucks Stop We Need To Send Video And Pics To Cnn, And If They Go With The Story(with Videos And Pics Of Trucks On The Highways Stopped I'm Sure They Would) They Will Use The Pics/videos And Cover It.

hopefully they will pick up on it and help....or at least cover the carnage i think is about to happen

I am starting this thread to suggest that everyone call thier local news station to let them know about this web sight. They do not need to take your word for it when you call to let them know what is going on with the trucking industry. Tell them to look for themselves. This forum makes up only a small part of all the drivers on the road that are going through the same things. Let them know this is not about a STRIKE its about the simple fact that you CAN NOT AFFORD to continue running your truck. Joe public really does not comprehend the fact that every product they consume was made available to them because of one of those trucks they complain about on the highways. Bring it to public attention that they soon will not have to complain about those trucks since they will be parked and in doing so instead of burnig all those leaves they raked up in thier yards they may want to keep them because they won't have TP to wipe thier butts soon.

CALL YOUR LOCAL STATION AND TELL THEM TO READ IT HERE FOR THEMSELVES.

The American trucker needs your help. Each day more owners are shutting down their trucks because they simply cannot afford to operate anymore. The rising cost of fuel, shippers refusing to pay a decent wage for the service and some brokers stealing part if not all of the fuel service charge(FSC) that shippers pay to help the driver offset the fuel cost. Each year shortly after the Christmas holiday there are rumors of strike due to a slowdown of freight. This year began the same way, however it has now escalated, not into a strike, but rather a shutdown. A shutdown not by choice as these drivers have gone without drawing a check for themselves, put off needed replacement of parts and in general cut every possible cost of operation possible in an effort to keep rolling. Now they have no choice but to shut down their trucks because they cannot afford to by the fuel to get them from point A to B. Please, Please, We beg you to be a spokesman to help our cause. Most people do not understand that without those big trucks that they complain about on the highway they will have nothing in the store for them to purchase. This is not a trucker problem but rather the beginnings of a national epidemic. Do not take my word for it. Log on to

I'm all for spreading the word to news agencies here in NC & SC on your behalf and I totally support the "shutdown" to bring attention to the problems we are facing. One thing to think about in the email you have drafted... by stating that "repairs" are being put off as a result, which we know are true, could possibly open up a can of worms of massive DOT inspections which if enough trucks are sited in violation could be turned around and used in a negative way against us. You know "the officials" won't be happy about any of this (who cares) but we all know how random roadside inspections and the weigh-station blitz's happen conveniently whenever it is to their advantage to do so....Don't take this the wrong way, I'm in total agreement with what your proposing....again let's make sure everyone is covering all the bases so we can be effective......

I think that is happening and mabey a little public awareness that it is happening is a good thing. I also put this in my emails I sent out and I did think long and hard about including it before I did
