Did you seriously just compare my words of encouragement to a short story from the author of The lord of the rings... LOL do you have any grasp of reality son? Lol your talking trolls while im talking self betterment.. Your delusional sir. But this is in no way productive to this thread so I will drop it there.

And yet, you come on a Prime thread to tell us how it is... yeah. You might want to temper your "general comments about life 'n trucking" when you start applying them to specific carriers.
Prime isn't a mega carrier.
There isn't a driver shortage... it's churn.
Unless you've been in the military, much of what you, JB and I consider nom de guerre is new territory.
Most of these folks have no idea what they are getting into. -
Fair enough Iron pony. I was trying to express that I was not speaking on behalf of Prime or its employees, but I guess I failed in that regard. My statement about the companies need for drivers was derived from comments from a Prime recruiter as well as multiple studies done by trucking companies as well as the US labor department regarding the lack of drivers in the industry as a whole. But if that is incorrect then I extract that statement in regards to Prime specifically. Although as a experienced trainer and driver I'm sure you can see the value of a little positive amongst all of the people expressing so many negative views and the intense hardship of becoming a truck driver. It is not brain surgery. It is not boot camp. It is a job that you will hopefully enjoy and make a career of. And as such should be taken seriously along with enjoying the ride.

I was rather making reference to it being wordy and dry, though I do know a troll when I smell one.
*sniff* -
Jimmy do you have anything productive to say, or will all of your remarks being condescending and immature? You are discrediting yourself with the crap you are typing, and I would personally hate to think that you are representative of such a fine company, or the collective of this forum.
Boy Howdey Thanks this. -
And every bit of it is BS, has been for better than a decade. If the driver shortage was a fact, the turnover rate wouldn't be 100%, or better. The pay would be sufficient to encourage more to stay. OTOH, rookies tend to bump into stuff, it's almost exclusively veterans involved in the catastrophic crashes. The 5th stage of competence is complacency. Once the fear of the equipment goes you're just a crash looking for a place to happen, so there is a sort of method to the madness.

Sure, last thing I'll say to you:
Show up to Prime with that smarmy attitude, and you won't make it, plain and simple.Drac1985 Thanks this. -
The last thing we need in here is an outside agitator to come into our house and try to corrupt the minds and thoughts of potential new family members. It's like a prefect stranger waltzing through your front door at home and telling you to your face how stupid you are for hanging up pictures in the way you do. It would be like one of us going to a thread about training with CR England or swift and telling interested parties all about how they run their training programs. Or someone who is perfectly healthy and well going up to someone who is type 1 diabetic and telling them all about where they went wrong and how they got diabetes and then they tell the person exactly how they need to live Thier lives to properly take care of their health.
exact same thing is going in with you. You are the clueless buffoon chiming in here feeding people who want accurate info with "genuine-artificial-immitation-information-flavored-subject-matter-"
you really need to take a hike and stick with what you really know on the clueless bozo's threads. -
That does make complete sense Gpsman, I have always wondered why truck drivers are not better taken care of for the time and effort they put in. Perhaps the goal is to keep a constant influx of new drivers to offset costs of more experienced drivers? Government funding?? Lol what ever the reason they seem to be doing their jobs well as I am forever coming across negativity from the semi experienced drivers..meaning less then ten years.. I come from a family of truck drivers and Its the guys who have been driving for 30 or so years that seem to have the most satisfaction in their jobs. And you are completely right about complacency, that alone can be attributed to most of the accidents in the towing industry as well. Except we do not have quite the same level of monotony as a long haul truck driver faces.

Wow PChase, I don't mean to sound snobby in any way but did you even read what I wrote? or did you go back and read what it was in response to? Im not sure what you are defending so vigilantly here, but you have definately taken my intentions incorrectly. I am simply expressing that trucking is not the hell some of you seem to be determined to make it out to be. But as my one immature response of the day.. I will be happy to take a picture of MY Prime truck when I get it as I am already more then approved and being urged to quickly attend orientation. So its good to meet you.. Mi Familia.
