HTQ sorry I forgot to give you an update about EMCHIEF but he is giving his 2 weeks notice cause he has to many Drs. appointments and can't risk being late to them. Since he got his heart stents(sorry if I spelled that wrong) the Drs really want to keep a good eye on him.

 

BTW drivers there is a guy in Effingham called the diesel Dr and he can turn up your trucks. KW can if you own your own trucks there is no law in effect yet that governs trucks it is all a program in the computers in the trucks. The problem is they turn the power down too much when they turn the speed down and all companies do it. I have no idea why but I have had a few friends who turned theirs back up through the diesel Dr. I don't know how much he charges today but I know it was $150 the last time he turned one of my friends up but that was a few years ago. Go to Effingham and call for him on the radio unless he quit he should be there

oliver2, it is sad to know that so many are struggling. Many of them have been enticed into a situation that they do not have the knowledge, experience or resources to be able to succeed at. It is an industry wide problem ....and a disgrace on the part of these companies.
passport, you are still one of the good guys in my book! Even you Oh Crusty and Cranky One, are one of the good guys ....all of you have helped many drivers along the way.
jaso, positive thoughts sent your way today for your doctor appointment. I had a feeling about EMCHIEF and was concerned about him. The main thing right now is for him to regain his health. Please send him our best wishes....we were honored to have him join us.

the diesel dr there in effingham, ill cannot turn up our trucks because he doesnt have the software for the paccar mx engine. He said it cost around 40,000.00 for the software and he doestn have it.

I called TRANSAM to see about coming on board and they told me for experienced drivers, they were only hiring lease purchase. Is there anyone on here that does lease and can you make money at it? Thx

 

Joey, Ive heard the same thing about the diesel doctor not being able to do Paccar engines.

Ryan, work your way back through the thread and you will read of our joys and sorrows regarding leasing. Cranky Yankee completed a couple leases before moving on to bigger and better things. Myself, Kirk, Jaso, and Joey currently lease. ((If Ive forgotten someone, please forgive me, its late!)) Im happy as a clam and not going anywhere, but am well versed in the stresses of negative checks. Each of us has a different outtake on the lease but we will all agree it is not a get rich quick program. Nor is it easy. Can you make money? Yes. Can you make more than a company driver? You CAN. Will you do it consistently? Good luck. That being said, it is doable. Moreso if you have no wife or kids depending on that paycheck.
