I hate threads like this, because they make me realize just how dumb I am! Lol

But in all seriousness, this was fantastic and really devled into what a lot of people ignore or just don't know about. Its taught,"have alarge amount set aside for maintenance" without ever talking about the maintenance itself. I would have been the guy buying the recap. I would have been the guy running to the dealer everytime the truck burps.

And I would have lost my business.

Thank you for talking the time to share and post this critical piece of information! It was very thoughtfull and well wrítten. I am going to have to research more of your posts

Rawze, I read the whole thing on scribd.com a couple of times. Great job! A must read for anyone thinking of L/P or O/O.

Yep proactive maintenance beats reactive maintenance every time!. Every part has a basic life cycle exceed it and mr wrecker driver will be there with hand out!

And always tell the shop you want to see any old parts replaced. Also try to get accurate quotes for repairs/labor before work is started!.

Sheepdog, I'm pretty sure this is part of a larger file called "the first time class 8 lease owners guide" or "getting on top of your truck problems" or something from Terry Norris.

This is just the maintenance part. It's basically a book with lots of info in it about taxes and all kinds of things. I recommend going over to scribd and downloading everything you can get from Terry. It's free to download. You just have to upload something before you download it.
