The guard rail did a fine job peeling away
crb Thanks this. -
Not hard at all. From the looks of it he wandered as he took out the guardrail and then the shoulder sucked him on down. Not sure if he hit that sign first, I was replaying trying to see that.

He was watching you tube videos of truck crashes.
S M D, Cetane+, crb and 1 other person Thank this. -
Good thing the bus driver was in the right lane and not the left ( passing ) .
Timing and speed considered he might have been in a pretty bad situation in that left lane -
P/U truck in ft. of rollover truck lost load of steel rolls gutter mat.
-
The guard rail was the culprit here,by bouncing of to the left it caused the truck to start to jack-knife then roll over. no guard rail no problem.............
-
If he hit the guard rail, then he'd have have hit the soft shoulder grass instead (if no rail) and I suspect the result would be the same. I find it interesting how quickly that truck came to a stop from highway speed what with all the rail posts working to slow it.
-
I wonder if he could have kept it upright by not trying to fight it. Could he have steered it onto the frontage road after leaving the main highway?
-
Had to have been a pretty deep ditch or other serious hazard for them to have put a guard rail up, so I'm not so sure he could have navigated through, across and back out.
