Hello,
I am wondering if there are any truckers out there who download and listen to lectures from universities around the country that have their lectures at the Apple iStore. I am working on a story for a magazine and am interested in whether this is a trend among truckers?
Thanks.

Maybe not university lectures, but podcasts...
Not sure what a driver would need a lecture on quantum physics for, other than to put them to sleep after they're out of hours.
(no disrespect intended... y'all know that) -
Yes. I listen to history and astronomy lectures. Cal Berkely has numerous lecture podcasts, MIT is supposed to have many but I must not be finding them in iTunes. I also listen to numerous NPR & BBC podcasts. I'm very conservative and a former news junkie. I'm replacing my minute-by-minute desire for news with depth on subjects. When those subjects come up in the daily news I realize how inept the news media really are.

i download a lot of lectures and course readings via "bit torrent"
i.e. I steal them...
just snagged 3.3 gigs of macro econ and comparitive econ lectures
from piratesbay.
I have an 8 gig nano (3rd gen) that I update and load about every 2 weeks. -
I know some people that actually download class courses and listen to the lectures while driving. I've seen drivers downloading an entire semester to get them that much closer to their degree. Work 12 hours, do homework for 2, then shower/sleep/eat. You can really learn a lot while driving down the road if that's what you want to do. I'd rather be entertained.
