So, you're netting about 38 cpm after expenses and before taxes.

I did the L/P and made darn good money doing it. On a great week I was pocketing around 2700, thats after fuel, truck, taxes, blah blah blah. Its not so good as a solo guy, but if you mentor the money starts rolling in. You CAN loose money, and maybe some weeks you will, but if you're not lazy and run when you've got a load you'll do fine.

How do you do the math to figure out your overhead or how much cents to the mile you pay toward fuel. And what's usually the payment for a T660 leased through swift if you guys don mind sharing. I'm thinking about leasing to swift in a couple years

One word excell. Lol I have it down to a science everything including diesel mpg, cost, def mpg, cost, average mpg, price of diesel, the sliding pay scale. Etc. I doubt its 100% accurate but close. I have been running my truck keeping track of the costs , mpg, and have been doing weekly settlements and saving them so after 6 months I will see what I could have made vs what I made. If I can ill post of picgure of a week to show you if you want

i currently drive for an owner op and the freedom is lovely. He has taught me alot. The only bad part is his truck is older so starting in january ill either have to go back to being a company driver or find another owner op looking for a driver. The lowest check i saw was $600 while the most was $1,200

    Thanks!
I start Swift next week as a new driver from a Community College CDL School.
I plan to try to stay OTR for 350 days (I know that may not be possible) and get some good experience.
I understand they are getting the Cascadia Freightliner, is that a good Tractor?

Most of my career I've driven Kenworth. When I started with Swift I trained in a Cascadia and my first solo truck was a Cascadia. It is easy to drive, very quiet, smooth, and gets great fuel mileage. The turning radius is great as well, very good for getting into tight docks. Unfortunately that Cascadia bit the dust (injector O-rings) and Swift got me a bus ticket to go pick up a Kenworth T660 (the one with the narrow front cab and condo sleeper).

    I miss my Cascadia...
